On STEP & Transfers & Purchasing for someone else

A friend just got called up to buy his ticket via STEP. The plan was for him to get 2 tix and a vehicle pass, but now he knows he can't make it this year.

Can he buy me a ticket through STEP and give my contact info for WIll Call pickup?

Or would it work better if he buys the ticket / pass for himself and then contacts ticket support to transfer it to me?

I'm not sure what the Burning Man / TicketFly platform will support.

He can change the name on a will call order.
Passed that, I don't know. Ticket support will...

Well, here's what we did:

1) We logged on to Ticket Fly using his promo code & account
2) Bought the ticket & vehicle pass using my Billing Name, Address & Credit Card

So ... is it mine? Can I pick up the ticket at Will Call with my ID/credit card & be good to go?

Or is there an association between his Burner Profile / Ticket Fly account and the purchased ticket that needs to be transferred to me?

Check the ticketing support site. Read the FAQ, and if you don't see it listed, contact the ticket support team using the links on that page.

Some folks wanted to hear the answer.

All you have to do is make sure the SHIPPED TO has the name of the person who will pick up the ticket at Will Call.

Have your friend follow the instructions below:

To change the Will Call pickup name associated with your order, please log in to your Ticket Account and select the order you would like to change. Once you are in the order record, scroll down to the bottom of the record to the “Shipped To” section and then use the “Edit” link to make the change. Keep in mind a valid ID must be presented at the Box Office matching the Shipping Name on the order.

Please note that we are unable to assign a ticket order to more than one person (ie: split up an order). If recipients are arriving separately, the order must be under the person arriving first and upon arriving at the event, it will be the first person’s responsibility to retrieve the tickets and place any remaining tickets under individual names at will call.
