What do we do with the Atomic Fireball candy?
I've read some people eat it right as they get it. Some people save it until they reach the Main Gate.

I was thinking about infusing some vodka with mine. They are WAY to strong for me to eat.

First year, got a lemonhead. I let a grandkid have it.
Second year, two fireballs! We each had one right away. What the hell does delayed gratification even mean?
Third year, lemonhead again. Grandkid again.
Haven't received tickets this year yet. Bought and ate a fireball this weekend hoping the mojo would send itself to the ticket gods. so far nothing.

That's what we do with ours too.

I love atomic fireballs! Some years I eat it upon arrival, some years I wait until I turn off the pavement. This year, assuming I get it in time, I plan to enjoy it on August 9th, which is the weekend I'll be doing my final prep, food purchasing, and staging.

Last year, upon getting my tickets, I opened the fireball, and it popped out of the packaging and rolled under the couch. As far as I know, it's still there

DO NOT! Under any circumstances, let your dog have it. No matter how long/loud he begs for it. Not good for either of us.

LOL. My wife got into my ticket package and ate the Fireball. She just texted me "Holy cr.. that Fireball is super hot! I have to keep taking it out of my mouth."

I got a bag to hand out in the Gate line and to leave with Will Call.

We received two with our orders (one order for tickets and one for the vehicle pass ... had to order vehicle pass separately due to fuck up with ticketfly on order day ... the good news is that they made an extra $29 for shipping from me!?!?) that were delivered by Canada Post today. If you really want one you can have mine ... just look me up on the playa ... I'll be riding my bike with a bunch of "PlayaScarf" scarves trailing in the wind behind me ...

I totally got one with my order this year!!! I heard of a couple other Canadians getting one too, so it must have been a change for this year, or I was just lucky or something.
Love the scarves!

Took my ticket and vp out to gaze at it and noticed my fireball looked different to me. Like someone licked it, all faded.
It just seemed to be a brighter red last year.

Thanks Maizie! It's mostly the handy work of my wife but I did design the labels

We hope to have about 300 to gift on the playa ... I guess we've reached crunch time!
Cheers

That's because you left it in the sun for a year!

I've read that the fireball was a shipping trick to prevent envelopes from slipping down too easily into hidden spaces in mail trucks or mail processing areas. I don't know if that's true, but I appreciate it a lot if it is.
I always ate my fireball first thing.

I open the package, and toss it over my shoulder into my apartment. No, not really, but I accidentally did drop one once, and found it months later, and thought it was so fun, that maybe I should do it intentionally. My luck would be I would find it with the soft under bottom of a foot, and further injurious mayhem might ensue. I think I usually eat mine sometime when I'm packing to give me a little lift.

Interesting - I heard it was to force them to be hand sorted, since the machines can only do flat. A fail-safe to get routed correctly.
Maybe this goes in Playa Lore and Myths...

I heard it was to meet the minimum dimensions for the postage rate they are charging. It had to be 1/2" thick.

I heard something like Elorrum's. That they didn't want to send it as a letter, because postage and tracking were cheaper for a package.

I believe it has something to do postage rates
By putting something into it it's now call a package not
a letter
But that's just a guess
