confirming will call name change

Last week my friend changed the name on her will call ticket over to me because she isn't able to go anymore. What's the best way of confirming that the ticket was successfully switched over to my name? I tried emailing ticket support with my info and hers to see if the ticket was switched and I haven't gotten a response yet and that was over a week ago, are they just that busy it's taking them that long to respond? Thanks.

They are possibly that busy. They have not finished mailing out tickets, yet.

Finally got a response from ticket support today!

For those that are wondering they can't confirm the change themselves. The only way to is at the ticket fly account of the original buyer and make sure the name has been changed.

If the original buyer forwards you a little info you can access the information on the ticket... They ask for your confirmation number, the last 4 digits of the card used to purchase, and the original address associated with the purchase. I had better luck calling than getting a response via email... Had to spend about 10-15 minutes on hold but was able to confirm the ticket had been changed to my name right away once I got through to a representative and provided said information.

What happens if somone buys a 3rd party ticket AFTER the OMG sale registration deadline 8/4?

Are vehicle passes going to be available no matter if you're registered or not?

If you're buying a physical ticket after the OMG sale, the ticket just changes hands... whoever has the ticket controls it. I'm pretty sure Will Call tickets can be traded all the way up until the gates open... but don't quote me on that. Only catch to that is the name on the Will Call ticket is the ONLY person that can pick it up. Once they hand you the ticket at Will Call you can give it to anyone you want, or leave it at Will Call for someone else to pick up.

I'm pretty sure you have to be registered to get a vehicle pass in the OMG sale, but you can get on and buy JUST a VP and not a ticket.

Omegared does not have it right.

Will call changes go through the normal process up until two weeks before the gates open. At that point, you'll need to follow the last minute will call transfer instructions. And look at that, it's all covered in the FAQ.

just got this email from ticketfly regarding changing the name on my will call ticket. i am still going to take the last minute precautionary step, tho.....just in case ;)

"To change the Will Call pickup name associated with your order, please log in to your "Ticket Account":https://tickets.burningman.com/account/ and select the order you would like to change. Once you are in the order record, scroll down to the bottom of the record to the "Shipped To" section and then use the "Edit" link to make the change. Keep in mind a valid ID must be presented at the Box Office matching the Shipping Name on the order.

Please note that we are unable to assign a ticket order to more than one person (ie: split up an order). If recipients are arriving separately, the order must be under the person arriving first and upon arriving at the event, it will be the first person's responsibility to retrieve the tickets and place any remaining tickets under individual names at will call."
