Tips for those who only need a vehicle pass

Post by nilasnake » Fri Aug 08, 2014 3:51 pm

a hint...if you are willing to do a rideshare, I'm finding many people have vehicle passes but no ride. give somebody a ride that has a vehicle pass. problem solved.

or if you are looking for tickets as well....start with the cheaper vehicle pass and then keep scrounging for the ticket. go to rideshare and offer a ride to somebody that has a vehicle pass. guess what? some even have tickets.

This suggestion works!

I found a ride for two people and our stuff from a decent distance by offering our vehicle pass + plus our share of gas money.

I have a vehicle pass and no ride and tried to arrange a rideshare for my vehicle pass, but my post got banned because it was "barter".

maybe it's the way you worded it. I was under 'offering a ride' period, and then people responded with 'we'd like a ride and we have a vehicle pass too", which I don't need. so they are floating out there in the hands of people with no cars.

and was that on this eplaya board? that might not be allowable, but go to the burningman rideshare page.

To clarify, I arranged my ride through rideshare.burningman.com. I was clear to say that we'd be giving the driver the pass for free. Seeing as they're putting >1200 miles on their car, plus playa wear and tear, it only seemed fair.

I'm giving this a nudge over to Tickets Discussion, since that's a better fit for a tickets discussion. The Offered/Wanted boards are for those posts only. Thanks

Note: I've edited the title to more accurately reflect the discussion.
