Buying off Craigslist

Hello! Is there a secure way to buy from someone selling a ticket off craigslist? For example, if they USPS to you and you pay them via Pay Pal...what would be the best way to go about purchasing them? Pay pal them and just wait for tickets to arrive? Should I ask them for ticket number? Don't wanna get scammed!

You mean other than that whole "buy locally" idea behind using Craigslist?
