Hello!

We're the Cirque De Moop!



Well, technically we are a group of students from Reno, NV. But, united, we are the Cirque De Moop! We are all students or recent graduates of the University of Nevada, Reno. Most of us have attended the Burning Man Festival for at least a couple years now. However, this year we wanted to bring more to Black Rock City. We felt that for the past years we have been taking so much from the festival and not giving back as fully as we could be. So this spring our camp got together and brainstormed about what we could bring to The Playa.

That is how the Cirque De Moop was born. As a camp we came to the realization that while it was fun to hippie fish from time to time, MOOP was a serious (and growing) problem at the festival. This past year we decided to make MOOP a competition. Keep a weary eye on the ground at all times, and whoever returned to camp with the most MOOP would not have to clean up camp! By the end of the week we almost didn't have enough room to fit all of the trash in our cars. This must be a serious problem...

But how can we convince 70,000 people to pick up as much trash as we can? One of the fundamental principles of Burning Man is to "leave no trace." This is simple, once you have left, there should be absolutely no evidence of your presence. This is a very worthy goal, and one of the things that makes Burning Man different from other festivals. What other city on earth is cleaned entirely by its citizens?

This seems like borderline personal burn expenses, covering your camp's most basic shade structure costs.

I second Jovankat. I think this kickstarter should be taken down and you guys should have a bakesale.. instead of selling cakes, give cakes away to the people who bring the most moop.

Cup cakes are also acceptable.

These are not for the personal part of the camp, the costs are for the carnival itself and we are 2/3 of the way there, please show your support and lets keep the playa clean together

As a camp between the core members we donated what was left after our personal supplies. Hopefully the other members will get some funds in soon, but we are broke college students on loans for the most part. We have a good idea and the time to plan and pull it off, but we do lack critical funds. We wouldn't be fundraising if we could realistically make this camp what we want it to be off the money we had.
