Be careful, my camp listed a "Grilled Cheese with Richard Cheese" party in the www book in 2010 and got frigin mobbed. Ran out of everything, had to beat on neighbors doors for more bread and cheese donations. Just a sign in front of camp would have kept things a bit more chill. YMMV.
Sooner or later, it will get real strange...

It can feel like no one pays attention to the WWW guide. I think I've made it to three events that I found there over the past three years. And yet, people show up.

I could host one at your place, TK, if that would make it 'easier' ... all we need is deep shade, and you've plenty of that!

entries for who-what-where guidebook

Post by LowePro » Wed Jun 03, 2015 8:36 am

Is there a date for submitting events to the Playa program guidebook? I seem to remember early June the last few years, but today the playa event website simply says: "2015 event submission is not open yet." I can't find a date on the Bman website or in eplaya. Thanks!

The new website is a bit more sterile than the old one although I will admit it is slicker. Other than a definite lack of updated event banners or info since it's launch, I guess it is an improvement. With that said, it feels like all of the usual info is late this year. Where is the list of theme camps requesting placement? It used to start going up even before the placement questionnaire period was complete. The only pages I have noticed being updated are the ticketing and questionnaire deadline pages.
A plan is what you vary from.

Destiny Lounge 3D will be at Bradbury and 3:15 this year as a part of the 404: Village Not Found group of camps! Come see us!

Update:
As of yesterday, https://rideshare.burningman.org/ goes to a 403 forbidden page instead of 2014 listings.

I'm merging this with the other playa events calendar thread.

The answer has not changed - the playa events calendar typically opens in mid-June. The first several hundred (it can vary from year to year) make it into the printed book, but the calendar remains open for submission through the event.

You can browse listings online, as well as physically on-playa at the Playa Info desk. The various smartphone apps that grab the data typically do a final download of information from the master calendar about a week or so before the event, so you can update your app before departure and have a listing of camps, art, events, etc in your device that is a LOT more complete than the printed version. The book has less than 5% of the listings that people enter (and many more events never get posted) and is in no way a best-of (it is literally the first several hundred listings until they run out of space).

It has now! Today's JRS announced that you will be able to submit your events from June 18th :)
