Snap and I are planning to finally make it to the ePlaya M&G this year. We'll bring something with chili peppers, or a bottle of vodka. Maybe both.. Looking forward to meeting you all!

@DrumminJim What kind of absinthe might you be bringing? I'm trying to decide if I want to bring the Butterfly or the St George's.

All this drinking is making me hungry. I'm bringing summer salami and crackers and pickles and jardiniere.

I'm almost entirely sure I'm going to be able to make this! I'll aim to bring a bottle of hooch and at least one bottle of mixer, plus some kind of foody snacky thing.

Hey, Trilo, can you edit the OP to update the address.

Good idea, we have been moved to 7 and E now.
Savannah: I don't know what it is, but no thread here escapes alive. You'll get 1 or 2 real answers at minimum, occasionally 10 or 12, and then we flog it until it's unrecognizable and you can't get your deposit back.

7 and E? And how late does this shin ding go? I have to get in, set up shade, and then bike over from wherever in the world I land on Wednesday.

The major difference between a thing that might go wrong and a thing that cannot possibly go wrong is that when a thing that cannot possibly go wrong goes wrong it usually turns out to be impossible to get at or repair.

It has come to my attention that the password has somehow become compromised. I recommend changing it to Molasses, or Mole Ass's. Either will work.

Them's fightin' words! I can't stand gin*. And the pickles had better be salt brined (you know "brined"). You're safer with a good 20yo single malt scotch...digital wrote:but Eric likes gin -- so gin it is. With pickles.

Re: Eplaya meet and greet 2015! Wed 6PM
Volunteers Needed
I am noticing a distinct lack of volunteers for this years M&G unlike in previous years. Last year we had quite a few (although only a handful actually showed up). Thankfully a few folks really stepped up to the plate and helped out big time.
We need:
Bouncers / Gatekeepers - Being a private event for Eplayans and their guests, we try to keep a couple people at the door at all times. This does not involve default world bouncer duties as we have more than enough folks to deal with any rowdies - but is simply making sure folks are Eplayans before admitting them and showing them where the guestbook and name tags are. The plus side is you get to meet everyone that approaches so it is great for first timers. I would like at least 6 volunteers for a shift at the door. Last year Tatonka pulled way more time at the door than should have been necessary among a group of experienced burners (much thanks) and I would really like to spread this duty out among some willing volunteers.
Set Up - A few folks to arrive at least 30 minutes early to arrange tables / furniture are needed.
Clean Up - This is a relatively simple task because hey we are burners and don't generally leave a mess for someone else. It mostly entails clearing empty serving plates of the disposable kind and replacing the trash bags when they fill up.
Volunteering can be done by posting a message in this thread or use the M&G Volunteer SpotI have set up at http://vols.pt/qNMxiX
Note: Volunteer Spot does not require registration, but you do need to use an email address to sign in. I have never had any issues with them abusing it or spamming, but use a gmail or other generic email account if you are concerned or just post what you are doing / bringing to this Eplaya thread.

I will do some Gate-Keeping. And this year I am writing it on my calendar, just like my real volunteer shifts, so I will be on time. We fix bicycles until 6 P.M., so I can be at the Meet-n-Greet around 6:30.

DAB - Happy to help! Specifically with anything towards the last half of the M&G.
It will be nice to run into you at BM this time instead of at the gas station.

I didn't see the sign up till now. I'm in for one material thing and I'll be in for one helpful thing too. Bouncer, set-up, clean-up... Just a hint, if you plan to get unconscious before the end of the event sign up for set-up instead of clean-up. Hey elliot, you were there. I saw you on the couch. No pictures but it did happen.

Put me on the list for gatekeeper... Maybe starting this year with a clear mind will help with remembering the names that go with the faces!!
Re: Eplaya meet and greet 2015! Wed 6PM
I can help with the cleanup at the end, and I'm bringing a sign again.
If I can get there early, I'll help with the setup, too.
Hoping to get to watch Goathead make a few stones that afternoon, so that'll probably affect my arrival time.

Patsh, you were one of the folks who really stepped up last year and that is really appreciated. Of course your help is welcome again this year.
To the others who have stepped up for this year thank you. I am trying to recruit as many volunteers as possible so no one needs to spend more than a few minutes of the M&G working.

Since I am a tentative attendee, I not sure you want to take my offer too seriously. I am happy to be a gatekeeper and help with clean-up.

I will bounce!
Also if you can use a mid-event cleaner I am great for that; I stress-clean. Can't guarantee I'll be there at the end of the event tho.
