Re: Tickets Shipping!
The day I am leaving for a 10 day trip out of town - I get the email. My tickets are shipping. Would have been nice to have them in hand before I left. Hoping that someone is home when the mail person delivers!

fulfillment still waiting ugh
Fullfillment, as posted on the http://tickets.burningman.org/ indicates Mid-June Ticket order delivery begins, July 5th here and still waiting.
So for those of us who follow the ORG rules and expect BMORG to do the same seems, where are the tickets????
Who else is waiting for Fulfillment?

Re: fulfillment still waiting ugh
"Begins" is indeed the key word. They have to mail out 70,000ish tickets, they have to make sure each order is correct when mailing them, all the envelopes are hand-filled to put in a Fireball candy so that they have to be hand-sorted at the post office (cuts down on chances of getting lost in the mail). Last year it took until mid-late July for them all to go out.
Think of this as your first experience with "playa time' - nothing happens when you think it will, everything takes longer than you think (except when it doesn't), and learning to 'roll with it' is going to make the whole adventure easier. The only time to freak out is if they announce all tickets have shipped & you haven't gotten yours (the announcement will be late July, most likely).

Re: fulfillment still waiting ugh
Not everyone who has posted about having received their tickets have said which sale they purchased in but there seems to maybe some indication that the Pre-Sales went out first, the Direct Groups Sale tickets are going out now and the Individual haven't started going out at all yet. That is an assumption based on a limited data set which I'd love to have confirmed or denied but 70,000 tickets going into envelopes certainly sounds time consuming!

Re: Tickets Shipping!
I'm merging the fulfillment still waiting thread with the existing thread about tickets shipping.
As others have suggested (and has been posted several times in the past), tickets begin mailing out in mid-June. Fulfillment takes several weeks. Last year we got the all-clear in early August, though based on statements that Burning Man has made to the media they're aiming to get all the orders to be mailed out by around the 17th of July.

Re: Tickets Shipping!
Then that's a holly fuck Trilo there's a lot of fire balls to stuff before the 17th, cause my tickets were pre-sale and there is 10 days to get the other 99% being its the 6th of July and the post has already arrived for this day.

Re: Tickets Shipping!
We had our tickets shipped to the Husfriend's office since when we bought them we weren't expecting me to be in the country and thus there wouldn't have been anyone home during the day.
We didn't change things because we still haven't managed to get the building management to change the building door buzzer to call the landline in the apartment not Husfriend's cell which is always on silent.
The tickets have been "out for delivery" since before 9am this morning but haven't shown up. He's about to leave work for the day.
I wasn't nervous before but I think maybe I am now...

Re: Tickets Shipping!
Lol, my tickets arrived but STILL as a result of a Ticketfly fuckup. I now know why UPS tracking never showed the package getting scanned into the UPS system. Someone gave my UPS 2nd Day labelled order to the post office...who actually went ahead and delivered it...to an insecure mailbox.
So if you paid for UPS expedited shipping, be warned that you might not actually get the services you paid for such as fast shipping and required signature.

Re: Tickets Shipping!
My remaining worry is that in this one unlikely instance, Ticketfly and BMORG are on the ball. If they noticed that UPS thinks my tickets were never delivered, would they in the name of good customer service void 'em and hopefully take the additional step of telling me to go to will call?

Re: fulfillment still waiting ugh
I never knew that was the reason for the Fireball--what an elegant solution. Now if only they could cut down on the chances of all of us having heart attacks by pre-stuffing the envelopes in advance and mailing them all out over the course of a few days or a week. I understand the concept of shipping relatively late in the game to cut down on scalping and counterfeits, but once tickets start going out it seems crazy that it can take over a month for them to all arrive.Eric wrote:"Begins" is indeed the key word. Re: Tickets Shipping!
FYI, checking my records - last year, we didn't receive the all-clear until around the 11th of August.
That's absolutely how the fireball in the envelope got started. Going back a decade or more, the automated sorting machines were nowhere near as reliable as they were now. They also weren't as flexible and tolerant, so a package that had a slightly irregular shape could not go through that machinery. These days the scanners probably make fewer mistakes than the humans, and the scanners are capable of reading all shapes and sizes as long as the writing is even remotely legible.
For security reasons, Burning Man/Ticketfly do not send tickets out to a fulfillment company in advance to pre-stuff envelopes so that they can drop the whole lot of them on the same day. It's maddening, but it's also a catch-22. What's worse, to make EVERYONE wait until the last orders are packed and prepped for shipment on the same day, or send them out in batches, as they're cleared and ready for takeoff. Yeah, we all want everyone to get them on the first day, but the way reality works is that in order to ship them all at once everybody waits until the last order's done.
@maladroit: +1 to what Eric said, send a message to [email protected]. Include the ticket number from your previous interaction. They're busy and it may take a little while for a response, but they're happy to help.
@jovankat: for what it's worth, we experienced a UPS glitch in the matrix as well. Two orders shipping to our address, got notification emails from UPS at the same time and both said would be received the next day. The next day came around and in the morning they both said on vehicle for delivery. Mid-day rolls around and one package delivers, but the other has reverted to "a label has been created." Hours later, it went back to on the vehicle, then it was at the UPS facility but said delivered by end of business that day. Shortly after that, it updated to say would be delivered the next day (and it did...whew!). Hopefully yours have either shown up, or UPS has gotten it together and they'll be in your hands by end of day today.

Re: Tickets Shipping!
Regular sale ticket received yesterday afternoon (WOO HOO!!!!!). Signature required, no email.
Re: Tickets Shipping!
I'm not neurotic enough to file a ticket because there was no UPS tracking activity for 7 days after the label was created...I simply assumed that they were creating a big batch of labels and then a bunch would be picked up at the same time. It was a complete surprise to find this supposedly signature-required shipment in the mailbox.trilobyte wrote:@maladroit: +1 to what Eric said, send a message to [email protected]. So there's no existing support ticket...no one knows there was ever an issue. I feel like bringing it to their attention in the middle of frenzied stress would increase the chances of a fuckup...I mean they already took extra money for UPS 2nd Day Air, and still gave the package to an entirely different delivery service. Should keep my head down.
