Pre sale ticket money cashed?

Post by engineer2012 » Thu Jan 29, 2015 7:51 am

Hi,
Anybody knows how many days / weeks when Ticketfly cashes the money? And the confirmation email, required for Will Call pick-up, will this be send after cashing the money? Should be I think.

For 2012 I just received an email that I won two tickets, and to my memory, about 3 days later the confirmation email that money was cashed and the tickets will be waiting for me at Will Call. It is now already 8 days and still nothing. Not too worried yet, because the creditcard company approved the purchase and the allowable limit for purchases is adjusted / lowered with the ticket money.
Greetings,

Hmm, Euro Dollar rate and now days until cashing, not quite the same I think.

Anyway, someone has an answer?
Thanks

Not sure I understand the difference. I am, however, a simpleton.

Plus even more threads to come! Why there's:

"Money from Pre Sale Please?"
"Pre cashed money sale ticket"
"Cash money please pre sale"
"Please money sale sale pre"
"Ticket cash cashed pre pre"
"Ticket ticket ticket ticket Ticket!!!!"

And so on......................

Congratulations on winning your tickets this year! As the official TicketFly liaison to eplaya, I can assure you that your ticket money will be cashed in approximately fourteen days, six hours, thirty-one minutes, and ten seconds.

I hope the delay won't impact your plans!

Yeh. Right. You know, all those reactions, just confirmes what we in Europe, or most here, think about you Americans. Or part of. Instead of becoming more "one", no matter where one lives, the snark of you Americans just drives non Americans away. Or at least away from this board. But maybe that is what you want. +1 for you if that is the case.
But I love Burning Man, and I am very exited to go for the second time this year. And again, I will meet lots of great and loving people, of which most are Americans (and are not on this board?).

If you are going to overgeneralize about "you Americans" because of the actions of just a few (on this forum of all places) then perhaps you take yourself too seriously & are too thin skinned to get any answers here.

If you despise "you Americans" so much then perhaps you should attend EuroBurn...........Oh wait........

You essentially had two very similar posts about something none of us can help you with, & really don't matter. How the hell should we know when your credit card company will charge you? (Really???). You said you got confirmation so be happy.

You're going to Burning Man (Yeah!!!)

It may cost you a bit more than you thought. (You're still going to Burning Man (YEAH!))

See you at the Meet & Greet

Makes me sad too. I grew up in a time we were sending men to the moon! Now we have to hitch rides from the Russians to take our astranauts to the space station.

And all of those stats are correct correct Simon. You might find slight variances depending on the source, but almost all sources are within a margin of error.

People in this country get all hysterical about Ebola, but they won't give their kids vaccinations to prevent them from getting measles. Please, how much apologizing are we supposed to do?

I think part of the problem in this country right now is that people are living under some illusion that everything is just fine. When people wake up and don't get sad, but get angry, maybe things will take a change for the better.

As a non-American I agree that posting a second thread was unnecessary and annoying.

Also this thread made me go look at the AUD-USD exchange rate. I kinda wish I hadn't...

So wake up from your dream of American Exceptionalism and realize there is a whole wide world out there and we aren't doing so well in comparison.

Sorry I had to truncate your quote because it was way too long (and boring). Statistics can be "found" to prove any point. I bet if you randomly picked someone from any country in the world & asked them if they thought their country had problems they would say "Hell yes"!

Is America filled with ignorant assholes? You bet. Because we have the FREDOM to be ignorant assholes and were damn proud of it.(kidding, kind of) Actually it's because we have misplaced priorities & those in power usually succumb to greed & self interest. But that isn't solely an American problem.

I thought mods were supposed to prevent thread drift & not create it :-)

But, if you compare the U.S. to countries that say..... don't allow women any rights & stone them to DEATH if they're caught alone with a man they're not related to, or behead "criminals" in public, or have no tolerance for any other religions except for (insert religion here)........then we don't look so bad. I could go on about child labor and a lot more but you know all this.

We have our problems but I've seen changes for the better in my lifetime. We have a black president & will soon have a woman. Who would have thought that 20 years ago?

I mean seriously......almost everyone here is spending a ridiculous amount of money for one week of selfish indulgence. Could that money be spent to help feed starving children? You bet it can. Will any of us do it. No, because we are all (well except for Jovankat & a few others) American assholes that only speak one language. If you feel ashamed about your country then go ahead. I happen to feel that The U.S. as a whole does less harm than good & these days that's about all a cynic can hope for. You can find ugly & stupid anywhere on earth if that's all you are looking for.

As to the actual thread here....No, I was correct. engineer2012 posted two very similar threads whining about not knowing when he would be charged by his credit card company & the quibbling about the extra money the exchange rate was going to cost him. Then when the usual pack of ePlaya hyenas tore in to him he cried (wah) "The rest of the world is right, you Americans are a bunch of assholes for not telling me when my credit card company would charge me". Really.....Really? He overgeneralized about all Americans (which technically should apply to Canadians & South Americans too) based on his encounter with just a few. That is wrong whether you are talking about Americans, blacks, gays, Sherpas, or anyone. (yeah.....still not sure about Sherpa's)

I thought he got off easy.

By the way engineer2012, I purchased my ticket on Jan 19th & got billed on the 22nd. I hope this helps. Good luck. Be happy, you're going to Burning Man in the heart of Assmerica. Elderberry will be the guy at gate apologizing to the foreigners. He won't be joining us because he sold his ticket so that he can go to the deep south & teach French to rednecks. Saving America one asshole at a time.

(Just kidding Elderberry, I met you at the M&G last year & I liked you) :-)

I really don't think the language criticism about Americans is very valid anyway. I learned French, German, & Spanish in school. I never used them so I forgot everything I learned. If Illinois, Iowa, & Minnesota all spoke different languages I would probably know them because they are near by & I go there. Looking at the map & considering how easy it is to travel in Europe it's pretty obvious whey they speak multiple languages. Many "ugly Americans" in the south speak Spanish because they interact with Mexicans (who don't speak English) everyday. Yet no one ever compares Mexican immigrants who never learn English to the "ugly American".

BTW - most of us on the Northern boarder speak Canadian :-) (Aye)

And at the risk of sounding arrogant, there is a very good reason many Europeans speak English. We saved their bacon in times of war & are an economic & military superpower. Oh, and England is rather close too.

Don't get me wrong. I think different languages should be taught in school & our education system has tremendous room for improvement. but if you don't use a learned language on a regular basis you will forget it & be called ugly for it.

And for the record I speak English, JAVA, & Python and still consider myself rather "ugly". I used to speak Fortran but that's like Latin.....
