Sold out? I think so. I had a campmate have an emergency at work, and when they went back to log in, tickets were unavailable. Dang.

Re: Who got tickets in the Directed Group Sale?
The Directed Group Sale is now over.
Congratulations to those who were successful, and those who were not should plan to register for the Individual Sale (registration opens next Wednesday, and then that sale takes place on Wednesday February 18)

My link was a cut & paste, but did work. I kept getting a 504 error & if my profile page came up, no button. But I got my tix, and others from Retrofrolic have chimed in. Slowly but surely.

Re: Who got tickets in the Directed Group Sale?
One of ours started in her Burner Profile and waited for a refresh to show the link. Never got it, so finally went to the email and got to the waiting room.
Sadly, however, at 12:48pm received the message that all tickets were sold.
Bitter sweet.

The comrades I felt indebted to have chimed in that they got theirs in this sale. Looks like my obligations are covered and I have an extra $800 ticket to throw at my buddy.

Re: Who got tickets in the Directed Group Sale?
I got my tickets but I can't believe how many emails I received from my moronic campmates saying they can't even get into the site much less (not) buy tickets. Must not have pre-registered by the 2nd. Last year the DGS tickets didn't sell out until Saturday. Not so much this year.

Re: Who got tickets in the Directed Group Sale?
Sorry to hear about your campmates, Doc. I've heard from a few camps who had campmates that spaced on clicking the link in the invitation email last week to pre-register (despite multiple emails that explained the process clearly). The craziest part is that these are people who've been through the process before, and that part did not change. Hopefully they'll be better able to prepare for the Individual Sale.

Re: Who got tickets in the Directed Group Sale?
I had three windows open before noon, no buttons on either the burner profile, or bm ticket page, so I went with the email link, and counted down to noon on the world clock. I hit the link at noon on the dot, link put me in line with a three minute wait, (go little guy in the green stripe!) I had my code and ticket fly password written down (the email said the code was embedded in the link, but I needed to enter it and my ticket fly log in) anyway... easily done, no worries, until my credit card company fraud prevention called me to verify the charge, and made me listen to more music than I had patience for... still all went well. Is Burning man a trigger? maybe a whole lot of charges went through all at once and it became a flagged item?

Prepare. Read. Update. Be ready. And UNDERSTAND how it works. Key things in this process. All the bitching I'm seeing on other boards are people who didn't and are angry. The biggest bitch is that they thought the tickets were a guaranteed thing and didn't realize they were first come, first serve. It just floors me. I am not always a well prepared individual, but when it comes to BM I am a bulldog.trilobyte wrote:Sorry to hear about your campmates, Doc. We called the bank the day before and said we would be processing a large transaction. Since its so unusual for us.Elorrum wrote:I had three windows open before noon, no buttons on either the burner profile, or bm ticket page, so I went with the email link, and counted down to noon on the world clock. Re: Who got tickets in the Directed Group Sale?
I find it interesting how many people are complaining about the Visa / MasterCard issue. Some suggestions for the next round:
PayPal offers a *free* MasterCard if you prefer PayPal (must be a business account).
My favorite, Google Wallet, provides a free one as well. I use Google Wallet as a safety barrier between my bank and the world. It's awesome. $5,000 daily.
Congrats to those who have tickets!

Re: Who got tickets in the Directed Group Sale?
Yes, it was totally NOT clear that it was a lottery. It was made to sound like if your name got submitted by your camp leader, that was it, you had a reserved ticket. Makes no sense to make it yet another lottery.

My favorite comment of the day (from Reddit):
You got a *code* - a place in line - not a *ticket*.
And - Jibbers freakin' Crabst - who the fuck doesn't know that a MasterCard logo is a goddamn MasterCard logo?!?
And then jumps to elaborate conspiracy theories to explain their own stupidity?!?
I'm sorry... I really am. I don't mean to be rude. I'm just fuckin frustrated. These people work so fuckin hard all year round to make the damn system work for everyone, that accommodates the dumbest of the dumb, and does more than every other event in the goddamn world to help serve the needs of its community .... they build a road to the river, build a water faucet that delivers perfect, clean, sanitized water directly to your lips so you don't even have to bend over to get a drink... and then you complain that they didn't PUT THE WATER IN YOUR MOUTH and massage your throat until you swallowed it?
Really?
I mean, **really** man?!?

Re: Who got tickets in the Directed Group Sale?
@thundt - it was not a lottery. If you had read any of the published information, you would have seen that it was a first-come, first-serve sale open to invited members of selected groups who had pre-registered in advance. I would blame your camp leader for not getting it or being a terrible communicator, but all that information has been online either directly on the ticketing page, or on the FAQ linked on the ticketing page, the boards here, and in a number of the emails that went out. I'm sorry that you thought otherwise, or may not have been able to get the tickets you or your group needed, but all the info has been readily available. This also isn't even a change in the process, the directed group sale has worked this way since 2013.

7 Sins Lounge is in! It went smoothly and I can't say enough about the ticket team and process. 2 people had links in the email that didn't work and when I tried to go through my profile there was no button to buy but we're old pros and made it work! What amazes me is the campmates I had to badger to read the instructions and follow the steps so they could buy tickets......

Re: Who got tickets in the Directed Group Sale?
A minute of panic when the profile wouldn't update - jumped to tickets.burningman.org (faster than looking for the email) and got right in line. Smooth sailing from there. Many thanks to the ticket team for making it happen!

Re: Who got tickets in the Directed Group Sale?
Last year 15,000 DGS tickets took a day or so to sell out. This year 20,000 sold out in 45 minutes. I don't think many saw that coming. I am not complaining or worrying about it but this sale is getting close to a regular sale in "probability". I wonder what,if anything, will change to DGS tickets next year in light of this latest sale ?
Be careful. You can spend all your money in there..............................Oriental Visitor

I am interested in knowing how the number of invitations corresponds to the number of available tickets in this sale.
