If you got tix in Directed sale, can't try for Individual?

My burning profile page says:

2015 Tickets Individual Sale
You are not eligible to register for the Individual Sale. A code assigned to you was already used to buy tickets in a previous sale.

Huh? I was able to try to get Individual tickets last year after I purchased two Directed tickets. (Unless I'm mistaken.) But this year, if you got two tickets in the Directed sale, you can't get any more?

That doesn't seem right. We were only allocated enough Directed codes for about 10% of our camp, and I want to buy tickets for two relatives who are going.

This is trivial to work around since I could easily create another Burner profile for registration in the individual sale. So it just seems bizarre.

What's the reasoning behind this policy?

You are mistaken. If you bought tickets in the directed group sale you were not eligible to buy tickets in the main sale, or to buy event tickets in the OMG sale (you could participate in the OMG sale to purchase a vehicle pass), that part has not changed from last year.
