Not that my opinion means anything cause it doesn't, but you're getting it anyway. I really wish any calls for admin action would end up in Case Studies:
http://eplaya.burningman.org/viewtopic. ... start=1140
If the requests are over there it makes it a lot easier to search through historical actions and figure out what's acceptable, what's not and if not why. Plus it has 39 pages compared to this thread....

I have no sympathy for camp organizers who expect to throw a big theme camp with money other people give them... Delete their threads. They can throw a theme camp with what they own already, and stop renting a bunch of shit because that is the opposite of sustainable.
My friends and I started a church because we always loved the vibe generated by the people at a rave but we were so disgusted by the disrespect and commercialism we also found there. We found that promoters would make up whatever lie would get kids out there and pay their $25, including lies about illegal venues, what you're allowed to take inside, etc. We have great parties and everybody just shows up with what they have. No, I don't fly people in from israel to play the NEWEST GREATEST PSYTRANCE because church DJs volunteer to buy great new records from israel out of pocket and PLAY FOR FREE as a service to the church. In my opinion we're never lacking for talent.
Oh, and since we're completely non-profit, and NEVER charge money? We can generally get free permits from the BLM because we don't charge for the events. So far we're not even big enough to even bother with this--who is going to bust up a church campout? I'd like to see it, and we have the support of the local BLM field offices because they see how much service work we've done.
It's funny, I don't NEED 70000 watts of sound and a 30KW diesel generator to have a good time, but these wheeling and dealing FUCKS would rather make up a bunch of lies, rip people off, and put their illicitly gained cash into speaker rentals, generator rentals, and drugs... I hope every one of them gets caught dealing at a party they throw and gets the book of THE RAVE ACT thrown at them. I will never sell drugs at a party I throw so I have no fear of this legislation.
www.utahcofea.org For the first time in my life, I can say "I love church."
EDIT for relevance:
It reminds me of the asshole rave promoter who says "I'm throwing $11000 at this party!!! FUCK YOU if you don't like how I'm doing it!!!" when I get on here and see theme camp organizers talking about how they are going to be losing money on these events that they could never throw without being supported by a community. Don't disrespect just because you've already got the cash in your pocket and are now the KING PARTY GUY... It ruins everything.

As I see it with the lexus thing, and this is just my personal opinion, since it was put in the discussion to illustrate how the images were being used, then no it is not commerce. It isn't as though toyota was pushing their vehicles here. All a matter of context and intent, and with intent, interpretation.

Everyone is entitled to be stupid, but some abuse the privilege.

My hobby is tracking down spamers and putting them here.
When you look at this blatant hidden ad post, you'll understand what I meant!

Not sure if it's exactly commerce or not, it's a blog. A blog about making money online. Follow thine instinct.

Thanks for reporting them, I've deleted the threads/posts and passed along the IPs.
and now A RANT:
STOP REPLYING TO COMMERCE POSTS. !!! PLEASE !!! I far prefer deleting a single post than the entire damn witty thread. Of course, everyone has the right to post replies to these spammers, but they don't read them, and with every eplayan post in reply I have to decide if I'm going to delete the thread or simply the original post. Have Mercy! Don't reply to spammers! I got tired of sending PMs, so those of you who refrained, thanks, everyone else, please help me out, m'kay?
Rant over and out, thank you.
