Petition: Allow the moderators to ban accounts
I see the same spammers posting over and over again. Can we expand the mod powers to help them better take care of this? And make the boards more useful at the same time?

Thanks for the support, guys. Not sure if you'd seen my comment in another thread, but that's something we've been working on. And I'm happy to say, as of this morning has been done.

I'm not sure, if anyone has said, it, but:
Thanks, for being a mod, taking on the responsibility, and trying to make this a good place.
your efforts are appreciated.

That was me. I do think it is a useful power for one or two lead mods or super-mods. I do not think it should be a universal ability for every moderator.jkisha wrote:Who the hell was the idiot that voted no? Come on, man up!

Thanks, ygmir. This is already a good place, though, and only because of the efforts of many good people. I'm glad to be able to help.

Another thing I'd like to see is someone who is willing to tweak the board as an admin as well. The admins so far have made incremental fixes and updates, but someone who is more "involved" with the board might be nice to fix things like the terrible low-contrast colors, plugins, etc. It's not usually a fun job, but helps keep things oiled.

Agreed - that's already on the list of action items.

AntiM, I'm surprised,,,, yet I know you are a wise woman and have your reasons. Although, you have been assaulted by the entourage of the same threads being started by the same MONIKERs repeatedly.
Between the update of the board at the worst fucking time of year, the onslaught of the aforementioned SPAM and the ticket threads popping up EVERYWHERE,,, I'm surprised there are any MODERATORS left!
THANK YOU!

Re: Petition: Allow the moderators to ban accounts
Actually, I agree with what that. I was even thinking that the ability to lockout an account without deleting it would be enough to fight spam, and it would assure if there were some rogue mod that decided to settle a personal vendetta, at least they couldn't do permanent damage to a user's account.

It's getting REAL fatiguing to fight through the storm of SPAM. If I wasn't addicted to eplaya I wouldn't bother.
