Why do we still have that list of "Similar Topics" at the bottom of the page?
I find it worse than useless.
Many of the suggested topics are not similar at all, and others are outdated.
I don't remember ever benefiting from opening one of those -- of course, I no longer do. To me, it is nothing but an annoying waste of screen space.
Am I alone?

I have to admit, I never use that feature either, but sure do appreciate all of the effort that goes into building and maintaining eplaya overall.
Re: "Similar Topics"
Yessss! Indeed. ePlaya is much appreciated.

Re: "Similar Topics"
It's probably worth pointing out the obvious... you're not the droid it's looking for - or rather here to provide a service for. You're a fairly radically self-reliant individual, and so by nature you'll probably always do a better job of finding something in a targeted search. You also browse and read the boards, and so in a sense, you're more well-read than the algorithms that drive that extension.
More than half of all visitors to this site do not fall into either of those categories. They struggle with discovery, and they're not that familiar with what's been posted on the boards (either recently or over time).
Fortunately, it's at the bottom of the page and relatively easily ignored for those who have no interest.

There is this "hidden button"
User Control Panel/ Board preferences/ Edit display options/ Display similar topics ()Yes (*)No
This will ease the driod and increase your bandwidth.
But as obvious as this is, it will be no news to anybody

Re: "Similar Topics"
I have to say, I wasn't aware of that option and just assumed it was a feature that wouldn't have any options. I haven't even looked at my profile settings in years.

Then I realized that the Lord doesn't work that way so I stole one and asked Him to forgive me
