Looking for Artists!

Post by MickiBK » Tue Oct 23, 2018 10:30 am

Looking for an artist to buy a wedding present from!!

My boyfriend's sister and now fiancee are longtime Burners. They got engaged last year at Burning Man and are getting married this December. We would love to get their wedding present (something for their home - indoor or outdoor art) from a fellow Burner. If you are an artist and sell your wears and have a website or etsy link you can send me, I'd love to check out your stuff. Thank you!!!!

The Welder Girl is an awesome artist who welds suspended air plant holders for indoor hanging. She also supplies the plants themselves.

They're reasonably priced and really cute. The picture is the one I bought and hung at work.

I have a few prints on Deviantart. You can ordered them framed or mounted.

Also, mod note, moving to recommendations.

Buying art for someone requires a lot of knowledge. (Even buying art for yourself results in rejects over time!) One possibility is that Larry Harvey's brother is an art photographer and would likely make limited edition prints on archival paper.

Are you in a burner town? You could contact the Artery @ burningman.org to ask if there are any artists in your town who have worked with them, maybe look up photos. Most burner towns have Faceb groups and other contact methods on their regional page to ask this question. Burners artists love to make weather resistant outdoor sculptures.

Also artists love two things: selling already-made work and commissions!
