I lost my watch on playa at some point. It's an Jarger LeCoultre Grande Reverso Manual Wind Leather Strap Men's Watch

It's a decent old watch, chances are it's in a black sunglasses case.

If anyone has happened to have come across it please do let me know, I'd appreciate muchly :)

Cheers and be well!

Was this the ultra thin $10,000 model or the cheaper $5,000 one. I'm surprised that you haven't spoken up sooner. Good luck. I hope you get it back.

If you feel you MUST wear a watch on the playa (I am one of them), I would highly recommend an inexpensive, accurate and reliable watch like a Timex Expedition. For around $30, they are rugged and have nice features such as an alarm on some models and have brightly lit dials. If you lose it on the playa, it's not a big deal.

What the fuck were you doing with a Jaeger LeCoultre on the playa?

Sorry to hear about your watch, and good luck finding it. I'm kind of curious, though. As you prepared for the trip to Burning Man and learned about the event and the conditions and the environment, what would possess you to bring such a timepiece to an event, let alone wear it in that environment?

Twas a gift from way back and I'd kept it in a sunglasses case for protection/safety while out on playa. There was no wearing involved, Señor triloboyte, I assure you!

Oh well live and learn and if it shows up so be it if not then it's quest goes on elsewhere!

Be well all and dandy!

If your watch should turn up, may I suggest that next time leave your $8,000 watch at home or in a safe deposit box. You also lost a couple of other very expensive items. You probably should leave those home too, especially if your prone dropping and losing things. In fact, the best suggestion for everyone is to only bring things to the playa that you don't mind losing, getting stolen or just having these items broken.

It's also a very good practice for everyone to use those little return address labels you get in the mail from various charities (that you don't really donate to) and stick them on anything you have of value. Cameras, cell phones, bikes, backpacks etc. I cut them down to remove the cute puppies, classic cars and holiday pics on them.

Isn't "expensive" a term that is dependent on "income" or "net worth"?

If anyone found my round Casio wrist watch with an old and well-worn stainless steel band (somewhere between Center Camp and the Temple on Thursday afternoon) please keep it.

When I spoke with Lost & Found about my lost watch, they advised me that folks usually turn in four types of items; (1) Items that are expensive, (2) Items that might have sentimental value to the owner, (3) Automobile keys, (4) Items with little or no value to anyone, and (5) Items with names on them. Everything else usually goes back home with the finder.

Unfortunately, my little Casio watch does not fall into any of these five categories.

So, if you found my watch, please keep and enjoy it because my wife went by a chain discount store and gave me another one just like it as an early Christmas present.

Edited. After looking at it, I find that my watch is a Casio and not a Timex.
