Hey! The campaign funds 15 days after it closes. So starting then. If there is a us mailing address that would help a lot on shipping costs.

Oh it would be a US address either way it's just a matter of whether to address it to myself or the BF if I'll be gone by the time they go out but I don't leave til the end of May so it should all be good.

I am not above pulling out the pity pot. This fundraiser will help out so much on what could very well be our last burn. After many years of trying to run me off by a hostile environment, yesterday i was fired. We can make bring the camp to the burn, but this is probably the last time. Please consider helping us say so long in a huge way.

Oh that sucks tamarakay! But when I got fired after literally thinking after each paycheck "one more mortgage payment" and even getting down to "one more days pay", it was the best thing that ever happened to me. Now I'm happily self employed and get to spend a lot of time on the playa since I'm not scraping together vacation days. My ulcer has mostly cleared up too. Do what you love and be kind to yourself.

Maybe you'll start up a textile biz....

Reminds me of my first store. I opened it in 1990 and kept it open for 11 years. It was a great time, was perfect for the decade. The internet (ebay) came in and soured the brick & mortar business. I sold it in 2001. Talk about apprehension! WTF would I do without my store! It defined me. Come to find out, it was the "school" I needed at the time. The newly-found freedom was exhilarating. I could say YES to any damn thing that came along, and I did just that. Traveled more, made more money, had more free time, quality of life improved. BUT, you could not have convinced me of that when I was closing the place. When one door closes, another (better) door opens. Good luck, and I will see you on the Playa.

I agree with the above - I got laid off of two jobs in two years. After the second one I was 46, skilled in my field (over 15 years experience), management, and completely un-hirable because I was "old" and "management" in a recession. They could get a kid for 1/4 what they thought they had to pay me (which I would have taken gladly after the first year of unemployment). Three years ago I fell into a job that was more of a stop-gap from friends who needed help while I needed work. It's now become my dream job, and I've pushed it far beyond the bounds of what I got hired for, while making more than I would have dreamed of when I started.

tl;dr: there is life beyond this, and a chance to soar!

If you're asking about our silks for BM, we buy scarves,sarongs and dyes from a supplier. If you're asking about the swag, TK knits some awesome sweaters/shawls, etc.
