I used to play flaming Hackey Sack with my fellow employees during break at the tank manufacturing facility where we worked. We soaked a Hackey Sack with acetone and donned a welding glove and had at it. It was really fun but one guy was always letting it roll down his chest before he hit it. He was never on fire for long. This looks a bit safer.

He doesn't get burned because lighter fluid doesn't burn very hot. Notice he warned you to stay away from the top of the flame. That is because the heat rises and all the heat from all burning surfaces are above the ball. The sides have only a portion of the heat and your skin can disperse that fairly quickly. Notice he only hold them still for a few seconds at a time because they are still hot, just not hot enough to instantly burn.

I tried this tonight after I saw the video, I just had to!!!!!!!!falk wrote:I can't believe what I just saw. Why doesn't he get burned? Has anyone else actually tried this?
I didn't have lighter fluid so I soaked it in 70% rubbing alcohol.
The flame is small using rubbing alcohol and it's said to burn even cooler than lighter fluid. It was really easy to handle. If you're worried about getting burned, try rubbing alcohol, lol
As long as you are touching just the blue flame, you'll be OK!
