Hi all,
I do not remember any topics about Will Call of last year post Burn. 2014 was terrible as I understand. So I prepared for the worse for 2015.
However, 2015 Will Call was a breeze. On opening day, Sunday mid afternoon, only 45 minutes in line. Perfect. They made a bigger shade structure and a good line, so no large groups of people just standing in front of the windows. Very organized, happy and friendly people! I think also the possibility of ticket shipment to other countries then USA and Canada reduced the lines al lot.
A big thank you to the Will Call team!!

Re: Tickets at Will Call
In 2015 Box crew increased in size several fold, number of Will Call windows expanded to around 20, and kinks in the ticketing system, new in 2014, had been worked out. One of my shifts was 6 - midnight on opening Sunday and even then there were times of no waiting.

Re: Tickets at Will Call
While my part in the 2015 Will Call Success was microscopic, it is worth noting that the Parking Lot at Will Call / Box Office was also vastly improved. For the first time, there was a system where no parked vehicle was ever blocked in by any other parked vehicle. Huge kudos to Get Off My Lawn (Josh) and all his team for inventing and implementing this system.
On that note I humbly request of all who drive into the Will Call Lot... please watch for the parking ushers and follow their directions. You will be directed to a specific parking row, and this is important. In fact, this is the key to making the system work.
Even though you may see other empty space, that space is being emptied for a reason. Even one car parked out of turn will leave that row unusable until that car leaves.
(The concept resembles the very successful Pulsing of traffic during Exodus.)
As for ADA parking... yes of course. Signage and manpower (parking ushers) were both a bit wanting last year as bugs were being worked out of a new system, but should improve this year. So watch for signs, or talk to the first usher you see.
Thank you!

Re: Tickets at Will Call
I think both the ticket team and the gate crew did a phenomenal job. Much better systems and much better processes - now if only we could have gotten the weather to cooperate people would have been able to get into the city in much less time
Another great thing that happened late in the season last year is the TICKET TRANSFER PROGRAM. At long last, an easy peasy way to not only change the name on a will call order, but to split up an order. I think doing that part online saves a lot of time at the gate. Longtime burners and ePlaya users know the drill, it used to be that the order had to be in the name of the first person to arrive, then they have to leave the other ticket in the name of the other person. It was very manual and cumbersome, and for people purchasing tickets in the after-market it was a huge leap of faith and point of stress.
With the ticket transfer program, I think will call works for a lot of people. If you may be traveling, are considering a move, are prone to losing or leaving tickets behind, or some other stress-inducing thing, will call could be the way to go.

I've never liked will call in the past, but if they keep the same procedure in place, I'll recommend it to all my camp mates.
