One year I got really screwed up after waiting in cue, filling in info for purchase, click purchase and it wanted TicketFly password.
I couldn't even remember if I'd ever made an account at TicketFly.
Thanks in advance.
Is TicketFly password the same as Burner Profile password?

No it is not. TicketFly is simply the company processing the tickets.

Are you saying we must register with TicketFly, also?BBadger wrote:No it is not.
I see no info on tickets.burningman.org that indicates any registration other than making a BurnerProfile.
----All sales require registration through Burner Profiles, so make sure your Profile is set up, complete, current, and that you know your log in details.
---Registering for a sale does not guarantee you access to a ticket or vehicle pass.
---All sales can be accessed from this page, or the link in your registration confirmation email.
---Buying a $390 ticket in a sale precludes you from buying additional $390 tickets in a later sale—only one order per person and per credit card is allowed.
----The name on the credit card used to purchase is the name on the ticket order.
----MasterCard and Visa are the only credit/debit cards accepted.
...etc....

Yeah that caught me off guard before too. Not mentioning that - prominently - is a huge oversight on the part of Burning Man. There you are, you managed to get lucky and got in, then that hits you out of the blue and you're screwed.

This could become a bigger issue in the Main sale, when buyers on average will be less familiar with such details than we "core infrastructure" folks tend to be.
Me, I remembered about Ticketfly, and I signed into that account a couple weeks ago, to make sure it was in order. And my computer now remembers passwords for me, so when I bought my DGS tickets there was no delay or trouble. ("Automatic" passwords may be a security hazard, but are useful for purposes such as this, methinks.)
I'm under the impression that buyers can create a Ticketfly account on the spot, but I would probably wonder if some sort of illicit hacking was afoot if something so unexpected suddenly appeared on my screen during this critical purchase.
As for remembering what accounts one has from previous years, and passwords thereto.... I keep a ring binder with a page for every online account I have ever set up -- in alphabetical order (that's why a ring binder instead of a note book). Every time I begin setting up a new account, the first thing I do is grab a blank sheet, and I write everything down as I go.
Yeah... Ticketfly certainly ought to be explained on the BM Tickets page.
But on the whole.... Burning Man is doing a great job with most things these days!

That's neither a huge oversight on the part of Burning Man, nor a change in the way ticket sales were handled in 2014 and 2015. Ticketfly has their own user account system that is separate from your Burner Profile account. If you've already created a Ticketfly account (because, say, you bought tickets to Burning Man in the last two years), just log into the account you created (if you've forgotten it, there should be a 'forgot password' link). If you haven't, you can easily create one on the spot.
If you are creating a new Ticketfly account, do make sure that the name and address match your Burner Profile (at a later point, the lists are scrubbed to make sure names match up with profiles and invitations to weed out scammers, scalpers, and other suspicious activity).
