Post by trilobyte » Wed Mar 09, 2016 10:53 am

The list of the 2016 Honorarium art installations (ie projects that got a grant from Burning Man to help cover some of their costs) is now live on the main site.... Really awesome stuff, check it out!

So cool! Burntanical Garden, Adventure Vending Machine, Identity Reorganization Portal, and Seeing humanity for what it really is all sound particularly intriguing! Can't wait to read more! Thanks for the heads up :)

Adventure Vending is so excited to be out on the playa this year!! I am nikishendangdang (pronounced "bang bang") and me and my team (we call ourselves L.A.M.E Arts and are based out of the San Francisco Bay Area) are excited to solve a problem: so many people are into THINGS! We have the solution, and it's called The Adventure Vending Machine. It's a machine that dispenses adventures. That's right - human connection, social interaction, and community participation. From the man base, the machine will sit, awaiting a participant to hit the big red button on it's facade. They will notice cabinets of gits on the other six sides of the machine. * Here's the game*: participants go on an adventure, receive a coin at said adventure - they return to the machine, input their coin, and choose a gift! Adventure Vending is all about shaking up the playa experience and creating mischief for the sake of mischief. It is a highly interactive art piece that is truly one of a kind. This project's main contributor is YOU. We are asking the community to create adventures AND gifts, submitted through our website. We want you to submit one, or both, or neither! Think of it as a way to prank your friend - send someone to serenade them from an art car. Think of it as a way to get back at pesky neighbors - ask someone to start a chair rave at their loud dance party. Think of it as a grand social experiment. Anyway you want to think of it - just participate with us! The more people engage with this project, the better the quality of Adventure Vending out on the playa. Check us out at www.lamearts.org lamearts.org Thanks for reading! We are so excited to introduce ourselves!! xxxkissesxxxx

That sounds awesome, Niki - and welcome to ePlaya! You should post a separate thread for the project, and feel free to post pictures and updates on the project. Projects may also post their fundraisers in the Support A Project board, see this post for guidelines.

JackRabbit Speaks sent out the updated link to the funded art installations at:
http://burningman.org/event/brc/2016-art-installations/

It so awesome to see the conceptual drawings and look at the artists websites.

Getting past all the perpetration, planning, food, logistics and other nonsense to just show up, this is the stuff that really gets me excited. :) Add to that all the stuff that didn't get funded but will be there anyway? Icing on the cake.
