BMIR stream choppy
BMIR stream choppy
Not sure where to post this, and who might see it that can make a difference, but the BMIR stream is really choppy this morning. I'm not sure how BMIR broadcasts from the playa to internet network (if it's cellular, satellite data, line-of-sight to Gerlach), but something isn't working quite right. I suppose it could also be a problem at streamguys.com who provide the streaming service. (My network is streaming other things fine, so I can pretty safely assume it isn't that.)
Re: BMIR stream choppy
It used to be a wireless link from somewhere around the depot to BM headquarters in Gerlach. likely has not changed.
Choppy may indicate high wind. The mid-haul links are very focused beam transmissions and susceptible to wind wagging the tower(s).

I have been reporting about the stream as well.
We should leave it to the FaceOfBMIR
