"Much of the team is pretty busy this year with projects so we are off to a very late start. I'm looking into alternate mapping options to help automate the process. In the meantime, we are accepting pin submissions starting right now!

I also understand if you want your amazing contribution to remain a surprise, too - there's something to be said about pursuing that vague thing on the horizon to discover the best art piece you've seen all week that you can't wait to tell your friends about. You can also be vague about your piece and still pin it on the map. We're easy.

That map's fucked up. They have Effigare not going thru at 6:30. Barbie Death Village goes from E to G, but they have F going thru and that's wrong. What's the matter with you people? We'll get run over! Oh the humanity!!!

Haaaaaa! Now I'm going to ride right through Barbie Death Village on my bike and blame it on the map.

Indeed, the underlying grid on Google Maps is all messed up. I've submitted several corrections, including the one you pointed out, via the official Google Map Maker tool for approval. I've also escalated the official city plan grid to the Google Maps team via some Google employees to their internal forum. We'll see if and when those corrections are implemented.

In the meantime, this is only meant to give folks a rough (and unofficial) idea of who your neighbors are.

Slight correction on the post above. Artists are to visit The ARTery on playa for Art placement, not the Placement Team. But then, artists probably already know that. Burn on.
