Deadheads at BM...
Not sure if this is the right place to post this, but I have heard talk that there is/are Grateful Dead camps/theme camps/groups at Burning Man. Can this really be true? 2016 will be my first burn and I'd love to hook up with some kind heads. I've seen where there is occasionally a loose camp called "Brokedown Palace" (which just so happens to be the name of our camp when we camp the rest of the year), but it's more of a name than an actual group. Anyone out there who listens to the river sing sweet songs to rock my soul...?

Honestly there is a camp or group of people for everything out there, and that's probably the best part about the event. Brokedown Palace is the camp I know of as well, but Reverbia usually has some epic jams going all week too that would be up your alley, along with some of the other live music camps, not to mention the spontaneous jams you'll come across all over the place. You're stoked!

VW Bus Camp had a Grateful Dead Tie Dye party.

Searching by keyword is a great way to look for compatible camps that were around last year (and might attend this year).
If you like Phish in addition, you can search by that keyword and get a result.

You can also search the EVENT GUIDE for Taylor Swift related activities if she's more to your liking.Savannah wrote: If you like Phish in addition, you can search by that keyword and get a result.

You can try looking around for the Grateful Floyd camp. They're a mix of deadheads and floyd fans, currently leaning more toward floydism. I no longer have their contact info but I camped with them last year and it was a blast. They really made my burn happen.
Beware of inviting trouble. It usually accepts.

I think the previous postings had stuff from last year, so I think this is probably more current:

I just usually keep my eye out for one of our many freak flags. While not a dead camp I will have one flying, just not sure which one. Sound system when I am around will usually be some sort of live dead from the past 51 years. In the 9:15 and E part of town just look for a flag.
