Hi everyone,
So I'm in charge of the Cloud project and am planning on throwing a free event as soon as it is safe, legal, and morally responsible to do so in San Francisco. I would be covering the costs and logistics, and already have the critical venue lined up. The idea is to announce shortly while making it clear that the date and scale cannot be determined at this time because well, no one knows when we will be allowed to do it, but since I have the primary logistics taken care of all I really need is more camps to join in to share their gifts.
Before I went wide and public with this I wanted to check in here to get any thoughts from the community and possible participation so its not just me going out of the gate!
Best,
Rambo
Organizing a free post-quarantine celebration in SF
Re: Organizing a free post-quarantine celebration in SF
So after an effective vaccine is developed and a high enough percentage of the population has been vaccinated?
2021?
2022?
2023?

Video games are giving kids unrealistic expectations on how many swords they can carry.

, but don't harm the red dragon that frequents the area from time to time. He and I have an agreement.

You already floated this idea but it so far got no details.
So you wanna throw a party. Great!
What is your vision? What is the format?
You mention a venue... indoor, outdoor, lots of public transport, is there parking, are we camping or is it a day-thing? Power, Water? Showers?
Are people building for days or will it be portable stuff?
How are you gonna inspire us to kick ass and make this successful?
Right now all we got is it’s a party, you got some deep pockets and there is a venue.

This party may be postponed for a year or more. I think we'll be on lock down several more times before this nightmare is behind us. The governors are doing a good job, but they are spoon feeding us a few weeks at a time. If they said lock down for 6 months, people would freak out.
