I'm moving this to the Regionals & Events board, since that's a better fit. We're less of a personal tech support site and more of a community message board.

Your post seems confusing, you may have misunderstood the directions on the East Bay Regional Group page. Looking there, it seems very clear that you click the link to that email address, and then send a blank email to the address listed. Checking it now in multiple browsers, clicking on that email address does work, it pops open a blank email in my email app (and from there I just hit send). If for some reason your web browser or computer is messed up, you could manually enter that email address into the to: field and send the email off.

You could also send an email directly to the East Bay regional contact using the address posted on that page. I'm sorry that you're having a hard time getting it figured out, good luck with your emails!

I entered by hand the subscribe email and no go. then I entered the other email and no go. thanks for the advice. I noticed that there used to be a calendar but its been replaced with a events list that says no events are happening. But a blue bird told me they are half way finished with two effigies. the group probably doen't really exit any way. :(

Fire wall?

Post by Serin » Sun Mar 23, 2014 12:21 pm

would like to be supportive of Burners in the east bay SF. There is events notice here for the East Bay burners but for the last three yrs there has been nothing on it. I do not have Mac mail. I do not have a (NSA ) facebook account. I have carpentry experience. Mural artist, papermache' master artist. I Teach art to kids and adults for 38 yrs. I teach radical self expression. Would greatly appreciate if someone would either email me from this group or send me a viable email link too this group. this is simple question isn't it? I live blocks from you folks. I can only use a inclusive response. please no more desmisive responses.

Ah, that reminds me, I was going to search my email to see if I could find that for you.

You've ruffled my feathers... I do do my fucking best, and I daresay many of the other eplayans do as well. I do get that not everyone is searching for the same thing, and that sometimes you ask a simple question expecting a simple answer.

some how i fished out of my mind the idea that the "alien siege" project is being done ( !/2 way done already) by the east bay burners. so i googled it. The east bay burners have a web site. I know you are doing your best. How about that link? How about that link on your main BM web site. how about the main BM yr round calendar or the events post at the east bay regional site listing the major event that just happened 3 days ago? I went down the clear path laid out. With no ego. And I conclude that there is nothing going on. i think a pro active way to deal with this is erase the calendar and to erase the events link. As it has nothing to do with inclusion, just smoke and mirrors.

Um, Serin, nobody who regularly posts here is an official rep from Burning Man, or has any more control of the Burning Man site than you do. Everyone here are just regular Burners hanging out & trying to help fellow Burners, and even the Admins & Mods are volunteers from the ePlaya community, not employees of the Organization itself. You personally have exactly as much control over the Burning Man website & calender as I do, or as Fishy does. Acting like we're a customer service department and getting pissed at us because something doesn't work like you want is just going to make less people want to actually help you find the information you need.

I think it is pretty obvious what i'm saying. thought not so easy in type... I went on up front links of events like, the BM regional calendar and the events link at the East Bay regional via the main BM web site. And there is nothing listed. So the simple idea is that.. in that case ..nothing is happening. What else would i believe. Simple. Simple forward logical ( no ego ) path. And if you cant help then dont. i still dont have a simple , non mac mail and non face book link to this group. If there is no such thing then just say so.

We don't know of any, and that's the best we can do.

REally, since you don't seem to be able to read anything not in black and white, people have been offering you whatever we can , trying to figure out alternatives, in an attempt to help you, and you keep shitting on us. Would it actually harm you to say "Thank you" just once, and "e for effort"?

Reading comprehension and kindness are your friends. I went to the page and followed the instructions on it and was subscribed in no time. Also, the email address on the page works just fine. And just to be safe, I tried on PC as well as Mac... it works fine. If there's a problem, it's on your end.

To crytp, I responded in kind to trilobyte and to Elliot for their focused attempt to understand what i was asking. I know you are trying too , and I know the moderators are doing their best also. I know at least 40 plus folks who burn and you know , we all don't talk about the event in the default world. Need to keep the radical self reliance up. And it looks as though my problems has been that my systems are too old. thus I can't tell from my point of view. At all. Running blind. thanks to Elliot and trilobyte's responses and a geek friend of mine I'll now got to the library and try there. Didn't ask anything of you personally. Get that clear pls
