Greetings,
After attending Burning Man last year, I was truly inspired and started sharing my experience with everyone who was interested. I've started meeting with those in my community curious about the culture and experience, connecting with other burners and looking to establish something more consistent in my area. Since I'm engaged with my community through entrepreneur meet-ups and organizing TEDx events, I felt my next step should focus on creativity, interactive art and community participation through a regional group.
I've read through the BM site about applying to become a regional contact. I've sent the initial email expressing my interest in becoming a contact on March 3, 2016 to regional-network@burningman.com but did not receive any reply, auto-response or anything saying what additional steps were needed to take.
I noted that there may be a backlog in the application process, but wasn't sure if it was referring to the initial contact or after completing the application. Any help or direction would be appreciated in contacting the right person.
Best,
ecoita

For good measure, you may want to forward your initial email to regional-network@burningman.org - when Burning Man switched from the .com to .org domains all the addresses forwarded automatically... but on the off chance that address was not covered that should put you in touch with the right people. They would be the right group to provide you with info about your application.

Huntsville checking in! My old home town!
I was a kid in Huntsville Al in the '70s.
I didn't think there would ever be burners there!

Re: Applying to become a regional contact
Hi! I went through the process last year and now I'm an RC for New Jersey.
It may be that there's no "openings" in your area for new RC's - you could try contacting your current RCs to express your interest in doing more. If they don't need any more RCs right now, they may have ideas on other ways to become more active in your community. And be sure to join their announcement list, when there is a call for applicants that's where it will be posted. Try here for more info on your region: http://regionals.burningman.org/regiona ... h-america/
Good luck!

Oh also the regional contact team is pretty busy right now gearing up for the Global Leadership Conference. You may have a better response mid-April or later!
