Burning Man in July 17 San Fran Chronicle

Post by phil » Mon Jul 17, 2006 2:20 pm

The San Francisco Chronicle has a daily column with a quote someone says they overheard. Today's quote was overheard in line at the Best Buy return window, a woman on a cell phone:
"Saturday is the burn, Sunday is the couples burn, and Monday everyone drives home to recover for work the next day."

SF Chronicle, page E8.
Ah, yes, the couples burn. Well, the Temple burn has always been quieter and more reflective.

Sort of, anyway. There'll be one person crying their eyes out over a deceased loved one standing directly next to some drunken asswipe who's holding an empty fifth and screaming "BURN THE MOTHERFUCKER! BURN THE MOTHERFUCKER!".

Apparently, the temple burn means wildly different things to different people. "Couples burn". Heh-heh, that's good.
