Playa Choir will be on the triangle at the intersection of D and Rod's Road. That is at about 7:15 on the Center Camp dial.

Hey Trilobyte, you have my blessings to change the thread name to So where is everyone's placement? Or some semblance of the sort.
I love the smell of bacon on the playa. It smells like.......victory.

Just remember that the DST's are determined by how interactive your camp is (which is why camps can get them on their second year, and why camps that have never been placed can get them). You get them so you can bring it again, not as a reward for past work. If you received 30 tickets in the sale and bring nothing ... well, I don't talk for the Ticket Team, but if it was up to me that would be the last year you ever got in that sale.remi wrote:[snip]I am shocked we didn't get placement this year.
On the flip side... we don't have to bring our massive shade structure, no dome, no dome yurt, no stage, no bar, no scaffolding, no kitchen, no showers, no talent show, no fashion show and no interactive art pieces (we have 4) because this year we are coming as spectators.
I find it really fucked up that we requested 20 DST.. they gave us 30 (10 more than we needed) and we don't get placement. Now we have 30 camp mates who are going to come and do absolutely nothing to help the cause.[snip]

Which is fine by us. This is our camps last year going. After 7 years strong, always getting placement and always contributing with interactive family friendly day time events with never any issues, this was kind of a slap in the face. Not to mention we were planning on bringing 3 new large scale interactive art pieces that we made for our regional (there wasn't a place in our application that asked about art.) Who's going to show up to our events at 3:30 & T (or however far out we are?) Not to mention we don't get to come early to set up the camp.. which takes two days. I'm not taking two days out of my burn to set up infrastructure for events that are not going to be attended. I'm totally fine with our camp losing it's DST status. All the blood sweat and tears that's gone into this place.. I'm happy to be about to take a year off and just be like all the other sparkle ponies and just spectate. I'm going to focus on my regional. If anyone from placement is reading this.. please don't listen to our appeal and please do NOT give us placement. Having this year off with 30 DST sounds very attractive.Eric wrote:{Mod hat off}

Re: Is placement done?
Remi, It's sad when a long time camp like Space Gnomes calls it quits. It happens. Maybe, just maybe, they do read threads on eplaya. You talked about gaming the ticket system. You talked about renting 2 yurts in your camp as a plug n play. Not hanging offenses in them selves but unattractive just the same. With all the physical infrastructure a new camp may emerge someday. Good luck being a spectator.

Without placement you don't need to become a spectator, you can always be a pissed off participant!
Hopefully even those not placed can find a satisfactory way of contributing and participating, even within other placed camps.
