MC looking for Theme Camp

Hey guys,

I am planning to travel around the US this summer, highlight hopefully being the playa.
I work as a Spoken Word Artist and MC and would love to contribute my skills. I am from Germany, so should you happen to need a translator I might be of help as well. I am not picky though, I would happily help with all kinds of stuff.
And I am funny (not always on purpose ... but still - that's a plus, isn't it?)

Sending hugs over the ocean
Lucas

Welcome to eplaya (and Burning Man), Lucas! Your spirit of wanting to help as part of the community is very welcome, and makes for more fun!

Center Camp is a great place for spoken word art - they've got a stage that's the right size for it, with mics and everything set up for you. They also need MC volunteers. I think they usually they have an announcement in the Jackrabbit Speaks newsletter.

As for translation, that's another skill that can be very useful. If you have a burner profile (you'll need one to register for the main ticket sale) you can fill in the volunteer questionnaire here: https://profiles.burningman.org/participate/ I believe there are questions about the languages you feel comfortable interpreting. This is also another way to get on the Center Camp mailing list.

Also, the general recommendation is: don't book yourself for lots of volunteering your first year. Maybe one shift or two throughout the week. Black Rock City has SO MANY interesting things to do and see that it's easy to lose track of the time (and even the day of the week!) and accidentally miss a volunteer shift, which can inconvenience those you've left shorthanded. You can easily sign up for more volunteering on-playa if you really like whatever you find yourself doing.
