Black Rock Weather

Well rested after taking last year off from ABC Alphabet Block Camp, a few of us have decided to do a weather camp this year.

We'll have a semi-pro weather station set up during the event to record and share temperatures, humidity, wind and all the other jazz.
We're in the process of reaching out to Al Roker to become a camp member. We think he'd make a good burner.

At minimum there will be a display at our frontage with a weekly grid showing daily highs, lows and the current forecast.
I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet, but there is a potential for a continuously updated phone app and/or mobile website.

We need some ideas for interactivity. Any suggestions? I'm wondering if I can get Ratty to whip up a couple hundred windsocks.

Funny you should mention it. I'm using up all my extra socks this Saturday. The theme for the SF Burnal Equinox is 'sock puppets'. Right up my alley. Ouch.

I've got 2 other massive sewing projects started but let me know if you do need something. Oh crap. I just remembered I have several pairs of some guys shorts to decorate. * Diving in*.

Don't forget to exchange data with BMIR, last year they had some troubles reading temperature

Also dust conditions?, ppm in air, visibility . . .

My late friend Teardropper used to make a pretty damn good drink at the Black Rock Rendezvous every year.

No work back from Al Roker yet.
Time to start thinking about Plan B.

We successfully deployed a 27' mast and weather station on the playa over Memorial Day weekend, so I guess we're a go.

Blindfold participants and have them guess the current weather conditions.
