Brainy Bar 2017 - Dance @ 5:15!

While we knew as we were leaving the playa that we were coming back, and that we'd had a lot of fun building and bringing the Brainy Bar, we wanted to take our time and wait until we'd formed up our 2017 plans before posting.
We had so much fun in 2016 that it seems like I hardly took any pictures last year. The only one I managed to take of the front of the camp was really early in the morning, while most people were still asleep...
Our camp is currently full and we're not looking for any new members at this time, but we wanted to tell you about what we're planning and invite you to come visit if you're in the neighborhood. Here's how the Brainy Bar works... each day we'll have one featured boozy drink, one featured non-alcoholic beverage (because we've all got friends who may not drink alcohol for one reason or another, and we want them to feel welcome and refreshed), and one topic of conversation (chosen on the day by the campmate running the bar). The topics can be anything (well, maybe anything except politics), and tend to be on the fun and silly side. The Brainy Bar space is a nice, shaded, loungey little spot with places to sit and relax, and has some of our favorite art on display.
Occasionally in the mornings we'll bake and serve fresh cinnamon rolls, so if you're in the neighborhood on your way to or from one of the neighborhood coffee spots it might be worth stopping by. Plans are in the works for some kind of afternoon or evening foody thing, I'll post more about that once we nail down the details.
I'm really excited to announce that we'll be bringing back FANCY SHMANCY S'MORES! We ha a blast with this in 2015 (though the weather made it impossible for us to do this as often as we wanted), and also at another event off-playa in 2016... in 2017 we're bringing it back to the playa! We take the american campfire classic and turn it on its ear using artisanal cookies and marshmallows as well as posh chocolates, apply fire, and the results are yum!!!
Of course, we'll also be bringing back our awesome rubber stamp bar. We'll retire a couple of the older stamps, and make room for a bunch of new ones as well as re-ink the stamp pads....
I am also planning on hosting three Virtual Black Rock Desert Project workshops to talk about building a next generation virtual playa that people can visit and play in year-round (that is, when they're not at Burning Man on the real one). Days, times, and specifics will be posted as we get closer to the event.
