Hi everyone,

My husband and I have made the somewhat last minute decision to get involved in Burning Man this year..in fact we're heading out to the LA First Timers event shortly.
We wanted to be 100% that we are ready, and have time to do all of the prep etc. before committing to buying a ticket, and I think we're there now. So, my question is..do the OMG tickets sell out in a flash? Or is it pretty common for last minute folks like us to get tickets that way?
I see that there are some pricey tickets on sale at the moment, and have read the posts that second hand ticket sales go crazy a bit nearer the time, so it seems there are other options, I'm just trying to figure out how feasible the OMG sale is.

The OMG sale will sell out within the blink of an eye.

Ratty is very correct: there are roughly 1,000 tickets in the OMG sale (and each buyer can get up to 2, so they'll go to about 500 people), there are multiple thousands of people hunting for tickets (what you see on ePlaya is a very small sampling). You want to have your best computer ready to click the second the sale starts - it will sell out in less than a minute (they may not announce it's sold out until 15 or more minutes in, due to the time it takes to process the sales, but I can guarantee you that all those tickets will be gone in a flash).

The good news? If you don't succeed in the OMG, those higher priced tickets will still be out there, and the prices usually start dropping some in August. Not down to Main Sale prices, but less than $990 (we've already seen some for around $800).

The bad news? There are a lot of evil people just waiting to take advantage of the desperation of ticket seekers. If a deal seems to good to be true, it is. Real the bright red link in my sig when buying from 3rd party sellers.

Sorry Sabrina, We got sidetracked. The OMG sale is a tiny possibility for you. Everyone enters it for a thousand or so tickets. Good luck and shop carefully if you try the open market. See you in the dust.

Anyone see OMG ticket registration links pop up in their burner profile? I don't see them anywhere...
