Hey fellow Burners, I’m looking to connect with those who submitted proposals for the recent BurnBots. They had 169 submissions and unfortunately had to turn down 153 of them. I can imagine that was 169 tough choices. But there are still options for those who what to bring their Bots!

I was thinking it would be an excellent opportunity to get a group of the BurnBots together to bring them to the Playa and have a little fun with being turned down. We could create the “Junkyard of Rejected Robots.” I mean, as the Robot community grows there are going to be those bots that are junked. Might as well create some beautiful art with them!

Even though we weren’t approved for some of the resources that come with the grants from Burning Man, I think if we come together we can bring some fantastic art to the Playa.

Sort of like the final scene in I, Robot, where all the obsolete robots are gathered under the remains of the bridge? Or something like this?

I think this is a terrific idea.

Yep, kind of a retirement home for Bots. It's a junkyard but the bots have tried to make it a home. Maybe even a sort of junk zen garden.

The more I think about your idea ShaneB, the more I like it! A kind of Salon des Refusés for burner robots, with a hint of Cargo Cult and cacophony thrown in for good measure.
