Wohnmobil sharing - sharing RV as Camp
Wohnmobil sharing - sharing RV as Camp
Hi everyone!
I know it's a little late, but I couldn't organize it sooner.
We (Corbi, Julian and Eugen (me)) have the possibility to get a motorhome. It is far too expensive for me and my two friends from Berlin. Unless there are people here who have a goat to join forces.
From our side we only want a mobile base for sleeping and eating. There are three of us so far. 6 people would have room to sleep comfortably at the same time. With ten relaxed people to share the space and the cost is our goal!
The RV's from San Francisco, we're picking it up on the 25th. Of course we can take anyone who needs a ride from San Francisco.
We would prefer to make payment in advance. Facebook, identity card and address data have of course been exchanged beforehand. But as you know, there are many ways to make it.
I look forward to receiving very soon! I have to let the car rental company know by tomorrow.
Greetings from Berlin!

An RV that claims to sleep 6 will probably only sleep three comfortably.
If you take tents to store stuff in/ use as changing rooms/sleep extra folk; it *could* work with 5 people.

+100 to what Gaminwench said.
It's not that the RV companies are misstating their capacities, it's that "normal usage" of an rental RV's involve short trips to campgrounds. 6 people can fit, but only if they're going for an extended period and bringing lots of additional gear (as one would bring for the playa). A good rule of thumb is you can usually comfortably fit half, or at most 2/3 of the number of people they tell you on the web site.
You may also want to specify when you're planning to leave and return. Good luck!

Hi!
But you didn't see the RV:)
And of course the standards and preferences vary from person to person.
So who can imagine the super uncomfortable luxury with us is welcome!
Grüße

If it works out for you, please bring a few tents as well.
Always good to have a few private spaces ready if it gets too cramped inside.
You never know when someone wants to sleep but others want to party, cook or similar.

I realize it won't be the ultimate camping luxury with 10 people around. The whole thing is mainly intended as a base camp. So we have a station for water, food and breaks. It is very unlikely that all 10 people will go to bed at the same time. My european festival experience has shown me that such things work very well and everyone has fun!

10 people? Now you're just being silly.

This is a classic US vs Europe culture clash.
In the US people want minimum 3 feet (1m) of personal space just to stand next to someone.
In Europe, it’s 3 inches (~ 10cm) and you’re happy to even get that.
Same with communal living.
Let the kids have fun.
I’ve run art-build camps where we had a RV as a base structure and had a dozen folks rotating naps and schedule. It can be done.

Remember that the max sleeping capacity includes folding the sofa and the eating seats and table into beds. The RV is all but unuseable when all the beds are in use.
So, make sure to figure on that.
