Want a ticket? Love a Geek!

For all you swell folks that got shafted in the ticket sale, please remember that there are thousands of Bay Area geeks that got tickets just fine in the fiasco.

Ever since the 2012 shindig, I’ve been successful at getting access to the ticket sale page, even though I no longer go to the farce that BM has become.

How you ask?

I’m a fucking geeek!

I understand HTML

I know how to read links for embedded information like codes.

I understand connections and sessions from a client browser to the server.

I inspect packets real-time between the ticketing vendor and my browsers.

I have 6 isp connections available to me so I can run multiple unique connections to the ticketing vendor.

I understand cookies, caches and browser history.

Etc, etc.

The moral of the story is that you need to spend time, make the investment, bring a socially inept, occasionaly inapropriate, generally dislikeable Geek into your life, hug them, feed them, and call them George.

That way, when you get stuck in the 3-hour queue to nowhere, you got a guy that can give you the magic steps to reach nirvana.

It’s true. Hasn’t failed.

Especially when they change vendors. That is wide open to Geek Abuse.

Now go find your lifelong BFF Geek! They are lonely, plentiful, and available.

;)

Satirical, yes.

But it is not a joke.

There has been a path each year to slide behind the spaghetti and get tickets during the meltdown.

All them web apps do client-side processing, so all the magic is there in the local machine.

Relatively easy for the geeks to figure out.

Systems are exploitable, naturally. It's not the geeks I'd worry about, it's the people who abuse these sort of things for a living to make their money on resales. They hire geeks.
