It is an art world, rather than a burner art world selection. It is up to date in ethnic diversity. A small few of the works are social message works. The overlap of burner artists are almost all in the art gallery world. It is a do you own research on the artists project for viewers.

From what I hear, there are all kinds of in-person events in NYC around the auction which are free. Given the dismal Covid social life of the last 18 months, if I was in or near NYC, I would be jumping on that shark and riding it in person, in a mixed metaphor kinda way.
There is info on the artists at journal.burningman.org, probably other official sources, and in the press. Anyone, buyer or not, might enjoy reading the artist websites, bios, look at their other work, their life story, and their exhibition history. It is a skill to learn to research an artist whose work you are attracted to.

If anyone is in need of an iconic art car, you have a once in a lifetime chance to pick one up.
Lots on one of a kind art from acclaimed artists.

CBS NYC drops this 6 minute video on the show:

In the story, estimated-hoped net after artist and auction fees to the BMORG $1M. However most lots are under estimates, many are not meeting the reserve, and some are not attracting bids. The auction closes 11AM Friday October 8 Eastern/New York City Time. As they say, bid early and often!
It's pretty cool that DA is a painter too, and his work is selling!

The auction was such an ignorant and wrong headed thing to do.
A lot of people I love participated. But it degraded the entire culture.
No goodski
Want to make something sacred profane? The fastest way to do that is turn it into a shitty way to make money.
I don’t think it was even all that much that was raised in the scheme of things. Kinda like a photographer that asks you if you are open to a nude photo shoot, and then getting suckered into getting fucked up the ass , and for less money than you had hoped. I mean, you got paid… so nothing to complain about, right? It’s just a business transaction.
