With the recent Kimbal Musk scandal and reportedly dipping into the fireworks budget to pay for persona travel, the "well compensated" and hobnobbing CEO of Burning Man Inc. is facing a decline in popularity.

Last I looked, 389 had "signed" the petition. So many things wrong with what BM is doing, but for July 4, I just watched the Washington DC fireworks and knew that Burners are so lucky to have much better fireworks as the Man burns and explodes....and we are closer to that show than probably every fireworks with crowds of same size (do any other displays have a crowd 360 degrees around the launch pad of fireworks?) And now, as is explained in the petition, fireworks funds are being cut. Hard to believe, huh? But it's happening. I think I read that even cuts for building the Man. This should be in all the newspapers that have spent decades reporting on BM for good or bad. Tickets not sold out made news, why not the front page "If it bleeds, it reads" as BM bad managment should be outed.

Eplaya may be the best archive of BORG2 and maybe there would be links to something in the Internet Wayback Machine.

I think the 2025 990 which would come out in December 2026 - January 2027, and the unofficial 2026 population, late in burn week from Playa Info will be interesting. There are some other potential BORG projects which could use a multimillion donation from a billionaire.

It's up to the board, not BORG3.

Personally I have resigned myself to accepting that the people in charge of literally everything are completely detached from the reality that we plebeians inhabit.

Impeach one weasel just to replace it with a snake.

Her qualifications are impeccable. I mean, at least she's not relying on donations to fund the event and using prior year ticket sales.

Well considering that since I posted this thread, the petition has failed to garner even another 100 signatures, I don't think her job security is under much threat from this..

And technically CEO's do get elected, but usually by the Board of Directors and not some rabble rousers from The Internet.
