I’m OK as long as I don’t ever read the “People Seeking Camps” page.
When I do, what little hope for the event’s future I have dissolves.

Look all you people... this is - well it WAS - a do it yourself event in the middle of a harsh desert. That in itself is a large part of what made it what it is.
If it’s too hard for you to provide your own living arrangements, food, water, showers, etc. then it’s too hard for you period. Doesn’t matter where the fuck you’re from.

Offering to help with power tools or kitchen duties? “Help” means BRINGING the god damn power tools and kitchen.

You’d be more help if you didn’t show up. Fewer spectators. Less work for those who actually do what you’re flying in to look at.

You obviously have a computer. Think of it as a test. If you can do this one simple task it proves you're self sufficient. You'll be able to transport all of the necessities far into the desert. You won't depend on others to feed and house you. You won't get sick or hungry. If you can't figure this out on your own, maybe a cruise would be a better choice of vacations.
