I doubt MTG understands what she is talking about aspiring to the "anglo-saxon political system." The Saxons were immigrants to England who did not even speak the language filling a void left by the Romans.

If I remember right, the Anglo Saxons where governed by a king with the nobility just below him. and the hell with the commoners, and anyone not of noble blood. This sounds like trumpism.
So maybe she understands more than we think she does.

a new report by a private research group, and a separate review by NBC News, uncovered hundreds of social media posts discussing plans to move on the Capitol, including a map of the facility and talk of how to create a stampede that would overwhelm Capitol Police.

"You know there will be riot police preventing us from getting in the capitol building," one anonymous poster wrote in December. "What if we created a stampede/crush situation? Start pushing from the back. Surely they will have to get out of the way or get crushed. They're not going to start shooting people."

Simon, thank you for posting that.

I get my second Pfizer dose tomorrow. I have been postponing seeing my 90 year old Dad until I knew it was 'safe' He's had his two doses of Pfizer, and I want to carry nothing into his house that might be infectious.

The CDC issues cards that indicate date of vaccination and type of vaccine. The World Health Organization also has an immunization record form available from most county health departments. I found out about that record form when I went overseas in 2008. I'd suggest carrying both proofs of vaccination with you, and keep them up to date BEFORE you go.

A funny story about vaccination and bureaucracy comes to mind. I was a child when I had the 2-week long 'hard' measles. It was cured with penicillin back then in 1968. Supposedly, having it as a child makes you immune, and I forgot about it. Fast forward to 2017 when I entered the University PhD program. Required of all graduate students was the MMR (Measles-Mumps-Rubella) vaccine. I'd had the mumps as a child, too, leading to immunity. However, the grad school said I STILL had to have the shot. oh, well. My insurance covered it 100% as preventative. Sometimes when confronted with bureaucratic inflexibility, it doesn't hurt to cave in. I view it now as just another hoop to jump through on the road to a PhD.

THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WE NEED TO RAISE CORPORATE TAXES

The company reported revenue of $26.17 billion for the quarter, which was up 48% compared with a year prior. Facebook's net income grew 94% to $9.5 billion, from $4.9 billion a year prior.

“From time to time, gas money or gifts, rent or partial tuition payments were made to several of these girls, including the individual who was not yet 18. I did see the acts occur firsthand and Venmo transactions, Cash App or other payments were made to these girls on behalf of the Congressman.”

The letter, which The Daily Beast recently obtained, was written after Greenberg—who was under federal indictment—asked Roger Stone to help him secure a pardon from then-President Donald Trump.

Everybody I know depends on the media for factual science-based information in the news. In a matter of life and death like a tornado warning, they broadcast their Doppler radar feed with their interpretation backed up by the National Weather Service. This SAVES LIVES.

For Tucker Carlson to say something totally stupid like that is not only irresponsible, it should be CRIMINAL, and Fox News (We distort, you decide) should be held civilly liable.

Only a moron would believe him.

listen to or read this very important essay by Dan Rather:

"The topic at hand is the truth, and not some esoteric notion to be debated in a college philosophy seminar. This is a truth so urgent, so important, so obvious, that attempts to undermine it would be laughable if they weren’t so dangerous. So here it is.

Joe Biden won the 2020 presidential election. It wasn’t particularly close. He won the total national vote overwhelmingly and won decisively in the Electoral College. There is no credible suggestion to the contrary. Election officials confirmed it. The courts confirmed it. It is apparent to everyone who doesn’t live in an alternate reality, who doesn’t harbor seditionist impulses, who isn’t a craven opportunist, or who doesn’t marinate in the cesspool of these forces, otherwise known as Fox News. For those who suggest otherwise (who say that Biden is not the legitimately elected President of the United States), many have been deceived and others are willfully deceiving them for their own cynical, and dangerous, ends."

^ Dan Rather calling out Fox news +1. Now if we could only have Darth Cheney senior dispatch Trump's leadership of the zombie army, that would be excellent. Reptile brain Trump has a broken personality which causes him to see enemies around him and seek to destroy them, he never gives up on an enemy.

The Dems need to get a focus on voter reregistration and get out the vote for 2022 that can overcome the voter suppression, or they are going to lose the House and even the Senate.

The shitheel Democrats need to give people reasons to vote for them. The whole “responsible middle of the road” pandering bullshit gets us nowhere.

Direct aid. Tangible results. Things that the average working class voter can see and feel. Sure the American Families bit was a step in the right direction. But reneging on campaign promises and flopping on raising minimum wage, canceling debt relief and stiffing each American $600 or more on stimulus aid are sure fire bets to lose the next round of elections. Fire the god damn parliamentarian and start doing things that the average American will feel.

Fucking healthcare. If they would seize this chance, literally a once in a generation chance, to give every American healthcare they wouldn’t lose another election for the next 30 years. But they won’t.

Defund the godamn police. It’s not a secret that the black vote helped secure Biden’s victory, and its without a doubt what clinched the runoffs and the senate. People talk about get out the vote organization, I’d guarantee if they were to end qualified immunity on a national level and start treating cops like regular civilians when they break the law, black peoples will show up and fucking vote. And no, making an example of one bad cop is not indicative of actually reform or progress.

If the Dems weren’t capitulating to their corporate sponsors and lobbies they could blast the Republicans back to the Stone Age where they belong and reseat the USA as the premier global hegemony a la FDR. It’s really not that complicated.

My money is on the Dems getting clobbered in the midterms. They’ll blame it on the republicans but it’ll be their own damn fault.

"They mean business now," one source told The New Yorker's Jane Mayer. The person said they believed that Vance's investigation had stagnated while Trump was in office and prosecutors were fighting a court battle to get his tax returns. But the source told Mayer that prosecutors' questions had become "very pointed — they're sharpshooting now, laser-beaming."

A former top deputy in Vance's office told Insider that Vance would likely want to make charging decisions before his retirement in December.

It brings a smile to my face that MTG and Gaetz have teamed up to go down together...
This is their farewell tour!

Gaetz is going to have to face the law now that his "wingman" Epstein-wannabe pleaded guilty as expected.

MTG has two Georgia home property tax exemptions, when only one is legal.

I love AOC's compassionate professionalism: “This is a woman that’s deeply unwell. And clearly needs help. And her kind of fixation has lasted for several years now” and “raised concerns for other members...I think that this is an assessment that needs to be made by the proper professional.”

MTG pre-election, accompanied by later January 6 Capitol insurrectionists, taunts AOC in the Capitol

MTG stalks and taunts Parkland student David Hogg weeks after shooting, taunts AOC in Capitol hallway last week

David Hogg, Parkland school mass shooting survivor and Rep Ocasio-Cortez are much more social media savvy than MTG. It is perilous to antagonize them.

On Oct. 26, 2019, Gaetz attended the “Trump Defender Gala” fundraiser as the featured speaker at the Westgate Lake Resort in Orlando. Two witnesses present recalled friends reconvening at Gaetz’s hotel room for an after-party, where Zalonka prepared lines of cocaine on the bathroom counter. One of those witnesses distinctly remembers Zalonka pulling the drugs out of her makeup bag, rolling a bill of cash, and joining Gaetz in snorting the cocaine.
