Speaking of Transformus... It takes me 12 hours to get to St. Paul if I head north. Takes me 5 to get to Asheville, if I head south. It might be a little further than 17 hours for you, but if you go this year, I'm likely to be there too. Maybe even a few others from this neck of the woods.

Uh oh... now you're hooked. You'll be watching yard sales for anvils soon.

I have a small anvil type deal, used it to smash the ends of my conduit on.
LeChat, have you ever made any swords or such? That would be really neat to do! I always go to the Blacksmith shop when I go to the Ren Fest in Shakopee and look at their work.

swords? Nope, but I did make a letter opener way back when. Never was drawn to the blade-smithing aspect of it for some reason. That's a whole art unto itself. But it's nice to know that as long as I've got fire and steel, I can arm myself if need be.

and no... I've not been to Transformus yet. But I think this year I will. it is, after all, my old stomping grounds and I miss that place. Once you go you'll see why it's easy to miss.

Weird weather today. Hot, humid, and rainy. Crazy lightning last night, too. Can't remember the last lightning storm like that that I've seen in CA. I've seen some great ones in Arizona.
