Just go and give it a try. They are looking for an interesting, good natured person to be their spokesman. The key I think initially is to be smooth and grab their attention(in a GOOD way). A little demonstration of some physical comedy and comic timing might be helpful... They just had us stand in front of a camera in a lobby full of other contestants, reset the minute timer and said "Go".

Just think of something clever and give it your ALL.

Don`t be like me and wonder later if you gave them enough to make you really stand out...

I more or less did tell my dad to f.o.-- actually, I asked him "Well, if I don't try it now, when will I?" Something he didn't have an answer for (esp. since he is the one who complains the most about how awful it is to be getting older-- never mind that my mom is older than him and seldom complains!)

I assure you, I WILL wonder afterwards! It is too much a part of my nature. (If it helps any, I am certain I will worry at least as much as you! We can have a worrying and wondering contest!

(I know this is about you, but I just did something that is almost as wierd - maybe wierder. I just got back from being the star on an infomercial.

Damn kids anyway, Your pappies just might fool the hell out of you..It's my kids that think I'm weird.. I get: Are you going to that thing in the desert again??Is grampa going too??So far I got one out of six to go..We had to spend some time at the gate..Up until then he had his nose in the air.. When he got back in the van I couldn't make him sit still..I'm 70 this year and gramp's(father inlaw) is 86..See ya on the playa

Yeah. It is. And I really did it... And it would be QUITE a change if I got it.
Not that life is too bad where I`m at now.
I`m my own boss, and I`m doing pretty well, But, I started
thinking about some advice I was giving to kinetic the other day and I
realized it might be about time to re-invent MYSELF as well. Then my agent calls along with a half dozen friends telling me about this audition.
It was very encouraging to have everyone telling me I would be a great Maytag man...
The only down side would be my elderly parents that I`d worry about while doing all the travelling...
...but I`m getting ahead of myself...first, I`ve got to get a "call-back" !!

Congrats on your starring role! (infomercial?...hmm. I`m envisioning exercise equipment and cookwear...? I`m probably not even close.)

Yeah. That goes with the turf.
You start out being a deity in their eyes; the giver of all things wonderous.
By the time they turn 12 you have completely changed in their eyes and have begun your slow descent into an imbecilic stupor that lasts throughout their teenage years. Then amazingly, you start to become wise again. I`m pretty lucky. My kid(20) turned out really good in spite of me raising him on my own since he was 8. He just moved out on his own, and I am VERY proud.

Took him to Burning Man in `04 & `05 by the way, and he was the "coolest" kid in his high school, as a result....go figure!

I heartily recomend re-inventing yourself on a regular basis!
Among other things it wards off the negative potential of aging, where things can start to contract as you get older. (I have this theory about alzheimers....)

And it was a nutracuetical product. What else!!
