2012 is confirmed as the year that a large unknown comet strikes the earth and obliterates all life forever.

Have a nice day.

Does the Mayan calendar end in December? It has been a LONG time since I last tried to figure it out....

I know when I first heard about their predicted end of the world date, it seemed like a long, long time in the future. (Of course, I was something like 10 or 12 at the time!) Now it seems really soon, but not soon enough! (Or something like that... :? )

I'm sure it will be as big a bust as the Harmonic Convergence.

So go back to building your art cars, ladies and gentlemen, nothing to see here.

Winter solstice, 2012 is the date that the Mayan calender marks as the end of a cycle. Like striking midnight or something.

Wheel within a wheel and all that.

So I hear anyway.

But what do I know? I'm a cat.

I'm staying up to watch that comet thing, though.

Aw, who's a nice kitty? Why, YOU are! <scratch>

er, yeah. The Mayans didn't really have months, IIRC. So the Solstice sounds right.

What's the story on the comet? :?

Fuck that "Save The Man" bullshit!

I'll be running in the other direction, yelling:

"Save the food!"

"Save the water!"

"Save the babies!"

"Let's get the fuck outta here!"

On second thought, maybe I'll just stay home in 2012 and watch the apocalypse on TV, from the comfort of my armchair. That way, at least I can go get another beer from the fridge, while they're still cold n' all, before I get vaporized or transmogrified or whatever.

Bah! Who wants to end in panic and fear, or even worse, apathy and comfort?! Me, I'd rather go at the height of ecstasy. Dance into the fire, baby!

If the Mayans are so smart, how come they live in igloos?
