Today is my birthday. We engaged in mass consumerism. Yay me.

I am a bit excited, because I once got Fs from a teacher for playing with the little black girls in my class. This was in Virginia, I'm a Californian and didn't understand the concept of race as a child. My parents were cool that way.

Hell, I spent a lot of my childhood in Mobile Alabama where you were a very unpopular minority if you were white! A whole lot of bad shit happened.

picture it.. Winter Haven Florida, 1983, I was an 18 yr old " adorable "

white girl dancing with a handsom black guy in a business suite. He could dance too !! After the dance he thanked me and I went back to my table of friends.. THEN this old, nasty, slack jawed, local, red neck came up to me and said " what the hell do you think you were doing dancing with that " n-word"?? I told him to piss off and then I saw the black guy heading for the door. He knew what was up.

I've also seen the Klan in full dress at a gay movie festival.. THAT was fucking scarry ! They were right across the street from where I was standing. and there were kids too !!

I'm very proud today and tomorrow! I hope some things have changed from 1983. I hate..hate. It's stupid.

I'm proud of Obama.. I think he will be a good president.

on a race-related note: whos ever seen the boondocks (cartoon)?

it HAS to be the most absolutely racist (in funny-ish way) show ever. the episode i just saw on tv involved the exorcism of tom dubois, who was overcome by haunted spirits of "nigga rage". the exorcism involved chaining him to a bed, forcing him to "read, nigga! reeaaddd!!!", beating him with bobby clubs and whips, and chanting the holy verse: "nigga, go your black ass out of here!"

episode is season 2, ep. 4 'stinkmeaner strikes back". it is the most gratuitously racist thing i think i have seen on tv (teletoon) in the last decade.

Damn TV is pretty permissive in Canada. I've heard tell that joking about things of that sort are not PC!

Well I'm heading to DC tomorrow. I think if I didn't I would regret it for the rest of my life. Being that I'm so close and have no reason not to go. I've made all my plans and am ready to go! Even out here in the DC burbs there are tons of visitors and everyone is sooo friendly and happy. Normally people around here are so busy chasing the Green God ($) they won't even make eye contact. But this morning I spent 20 minutes in the store taking to people about where they were from and their plans for tomorrow.

Lots of my friends say they aren't even coming close to DC but whatever. I'm not gonna hide in my apartment and let history pass me by. I kinda see it as practice for Burning Man. I'm coming prepared but with no expectations, just rolling with the waves. I'll be sure to post Pictures/videos tomorrow when I get home.

Gotta go to bed in a few hours. Getting up at 3am tomorrow

I'm a little unsure whether you guys just flinging the usual sarcastic BS on here or have misunderstood what I said.

I'm probably less bigot than most of you because I'm not color-biased even though I grew up persecuted by a black majority. As far as I'm concerned, those people that did all that shit to me and my family back then weren't "niggers", they were "assholes". Assholes come in all colors. Some of you here are proof of that.
