I've been told Dougly only wears that outfit when he's performing as an exotic dancer, I think that's only his "sideline" work.......
I had a stripped bolt head on a 1/4 inch soft steel bolt that holds the belt cover on a scooter. I ended up trying to cut a slot in the head to use an impact screwdriver on it...but when that failed I decided to cut the head off flush with the aluminum housing. I was 3/4 of the way through the bolt head taking my time to let the cutting wheel work when this happened.gyre wrote:I have one.
What exactly were you doing with it when this happened?
No long time of use or anything else?
Weird.
Dremel says they have a 5 year warranty, so send it in and they'll fix it.
I don't know how that is even possible.
At the time it happened I was running the unit at a low RPM, the drive motor had plenty of ventilation and the garage area was about 58 degrees. What really concerns me is that the thing actually caught on fire and the fire didn't go out easily either. I've used older powertools that have shut off from getting too hot a time or two, but to try and go Kingsford and turn into a plastic charcoal briquette...never had that happen. I guess there's a first time for everything. I posted about this on Dremel's main forum....I wonder if they'll respond back? We will see....meanwhile time to shop for a replacement.gyre wrote:The flex shaft does add a load, but sheesh.
I haven't used mine much since I got a battery powered one.
I'm in the process of trying to do that too....hopefully they will replace itgyre wrote:Low rpm does create a high heat situation under load.
Still...
Why don't you send it in to dremel?
If you want a battery model, I got one in 7 volts and liked it so much I went out and got the variable speed model.
Only used the two speed model once.
