What is the best way to spend 3 months in Spain?

I am going to be heading to spain in a few weeks and it struck me that I was not using one of the best groups of people I know to answer the question:

What is the best way to spend 3 months in Spain?

I am looking to get a shared apt somewhere for about 3 months somewhere in spain. I am open to any suggestions. My focus is:

not go broke
to get a feel for the culture
practice & improve my limited spainish
take some dance classes
go out from time to time at night.

When I went I hung out on the Costa Del Sol near Malaga at the beach. Lots of nudity (you can tell the Americans: they're the only ones not at least topless), cheap drinks, perfect weather.

That's where we went off season. Even cheaper, but no nudity. Don't miss the Dali sculptures marching down to the beach.

Just copy down "Costa Del Sol near Malaga". That's a start.

This will sound weird, but my first instinct was to go to Yelp.com and enter "Spain" into the "Near" search window on the right. Well, look at that. A bunch of different categories. Museums, Wine bars, Landmarks and Historical Buildings, Tapas/Small Plates, etc. What is it you most want to do? Enter that on the left. What city do you want to explore? Enter that on the right.

I'll bet that if you entered "Restaurants" or "Bars" into the "Searching For" Box on the left, and "Barcelona, Spain" or "Madrid, Spain" into the "Near" box--or some other city you are likely to arrive in--this will get you much more specific reviews. Note: it's Yelp, so take everything with a grain of salt, and trust the number of stars you see most often.

I know that Nowhere happens in spain which is what prompted me to ask. I was looking for a burner slant on what burners would enjoy there. I mean, honestly, if i can't find some way to enjoy myself in spain for 3 months I might be completely hopesless...

But I thought I might get lucky an have some fellow burners point me in a direction....say for example....Costa Del Sol ....

From what I hear the beaches are filled with euro-tourists. Plus, we have beaches in this country.
Don't go to the Dali museum, unless you like Dali.
Ditto Guernica.
Wander around cities without an agenda.
Visit the new Guggenheim.
Ask on the regional list for Spain and Europe and Nowhere.

I loved Ronda too. There are lots and lots of amazing little trips you can do from the Malaga area. We took the boat over to Morocco but were really glad that we did that day with a tour group as walking through the people trying to sell you stuff in the casbah is much like a gauntlet. You can day trip to Granada and see the Alhambra.

We went to Alhambra too! Amazing. We also went over to Gibraltar. That was interesting, I wish we'd had a couple days to explore there.
