Because practices such as starvation, sleep denial and flagellation are
known to induce altered states, flagellation may be used by religious
ecstatics and mystics as part of ritualistic practices or ceremonies to
achieve unusual states of mind.

Wow many answers would you give if I were to ask the meaning of your life ?

In Roman mythology, Janus (or Ianus) was the god of gates, doors,
doorways, beginnings and endings. His most prominent remnants in
modern culture are his namesakes: the month of January, which begins
the new year, and the janitor, who is a caretaker of doors and halls.

Janus was usually depicted with two heads looking in opposite directions.
According to a legend, he had received from the God Saturn, in reward
for the hospitality received, the gift to see both future and past.[/b

His ability to see both forwards and backwards at the same time aided
him in his pursuit of the nymph Carna to whom he gave power over as a reward for her favours.

1947 Everson v. Board of Education enacted the "WALL" of separation between church and state

1962 Engel v. Vitale banned prayer.

1963 Abington Township v. Schempp banned Bible reading.

1968 Epperson v. Arkansas took away a state's free choice not to teach evolution.

1980 Stone v. Graham banned the Ten Commandments.

1985 Wallace v. Jaffre banned a period of silence for meditation or voluntary prayer.

We have an obligation to make space for everyone, we have no obligation to make that space pleasant.
