@FaeTora; I've taken my coffee press every year and it's glass. No problems although now that I see the stainless steel one, I'm thinking that would be a nice replacement.
For the coffee grounds, I make up a place to dry them out so they don't smell up the garbage. I use an onion bag hanging in a small basket from a 3 foot tall piece of rebar beside my little camper. There is a small piece of tarp on the ground to catch any drips.
I dump the grounds from the press onto a piece of paper towel and put the paper towel full of grounds into the onion skin bag. By the end of the day, I can dump those grounds into my compostables bucket which is a large size metal coffee can with a lid. This keeps the smell of the garbage down and I can take the compostables home to my garden bin. Oh and I use post-consumer paper towels that are compostable so I can just grab the whole thing and put it in the bucket.
If you're travelling by air to the event, this will be trickier to organize your waste. You may have to find one of the camps that has one of the green compost bins and dispose of your grounds there.
Every thing that you take to the playa has to be considered for its waste potential. My coffee in the morning is too important to not have so I go to the trouble to look after it from beginning to end.

Of course, but I still wanted to do some compensatory mourning of a lost opportunity.ygmir wrote:isn't there some sort of "snoozing/losing" parable that applies?theCryptofishist wrote:Darn. i didnt' get the opportunity to post on page 365.

Well, I hope I am not out with this Bday cake for Risky

Sput, that drink looks delicious...as always
GH, I just wonder what happens to your friends cars or RVs at BM...do they woke up with taped door? ha ha ha Brilliant parking position for your friends car! Hope you did have great laugh.
FT, you dont even have to wait for coffee grounds to settle down...it is settled in moment. It is really not a problem!
....and I will even teach you one drink for which you eat the coffee grounds powder and surprisingly it taste great!!!

We call it Russian Cocaine...and it is delicious (I thought it was disgusting until I first tasted it, since than...yummy)

You can see the picture how it is prepared, Sput...
you make slice of lemon and put powder sugar on one side and coffee on the other side....you bite it out...

...chew once or twice and drink shot of vodka so it all mixes in your mouth......delicious...and you really dont have bad taste from the coffee or anything...it is just great...refreshing...

ok. today it hit. I'm going to BM in 7 weeks. 7 weeks! how did it get so close. Now I get a little panicy. I will go through the garage tuesday and wednesday if I feel better and take out each piece of equipment to make sure its working and will live on the playa.
I need a drink.

Anyone want one?
I need a drink.

Anyone want one?
We break to remind us how to mend.
