Thanks, I knew I couldn't climb the corporate ladder because I have no desire to ever quit learning new things. I want to stay in the lab, be useful, and stay sharp. Engineers that become managers (which you need to do to suck-seed at Intel) always rue the loss of their technical abilities.

But to stick around, you need to show some kind of 'improvement'. Meaning I need to be more of a paperwork whore.

And no, I'm not bitter- just 'sensible' and sold-out.

How about a single malt for my favorite Sicilian!! And Rob, do what you need to do to be where you want to be... but if you don't want to be a manager (which does, indeed, suck... having been there on a grand scale!) avoid it. If the corporate vampires (sucking the life out of all creativity) become too much... make a garland of garlic and wear it on your head, and a cross out of mother boards and wear it around your neck... trust me... they will leave you alone.
